Indeed, but hopefully she quotes the Princess Bride: "Did I make it clear that your JOBBBB is on the line!"

Dont forget Bert Koldie in the whole process. He knows who Paul liked before Stotts and who Paul liked if a change were to be made. I still think thats why Brent Barry come out if now where.

It's a stealth Kolde move to have Brent Barry in. Then Kolde will backdoor hire Barry as the new GM.

I agree. With 2 younger guys, and the likelihood they move Kemba, with a "soft rebuild", there's less expectation for a new hire right off the bat. In Portland, we were already a perennial playoff team, underachieving, but still consistently there. We have a star at the peak of his prime, so there is expectation to win now, not ease in to your role.

I just have a feeling that MDA is going to be a better version of Stotts... and I don't think that's a good thing necessarily.

yeah, the pressure in Portland will be enormous because of that star. The new coach will know he could be signing up for a situation where the star demands a trade next summer if the team doesn't do better

and the GM just fired a coach while saying the problems the coach was fired for weren't roster problems. That kind of puts the new coach in the position of having to do quite a bit better than a 48 win team and a 1st round exit

and any coaching candidate will not know if Powell will be a Blazer next season. But he'll know that Powell signing elsewhere would leave a big hole in the roster

simply more uncertainty and pressure in the Portland job

on the other hand, the new coach will have Dame to rely on

There are enough teams interested in CJ, he needs to be moved. We won't get anyone back with the same offensive talent, but with what they do provide along with the improved balance of the starting line-up should produce a better overall result.

So pretty much every major media member is suggesting that it’s gonna be the same guy. Anything but Billups would be a surprise at this point.

Not in private industry. You're right for state colleges, as my then-wife and I discovered as employees at WWU. (By the way, I drove through your employer EOU on a couple of trips. It looks like the WCC we have here.)

Every nfl reporter was saying Mac Jones was a lock to the Niners at number 3 in the draft for like a month leading up to it.

I hope we get Chauncey Billups. Former All Defensive championship point guard. Known for his floor leadership and tactical Iq. Plus Dame wants him. I don’t want a recycled coach whose been fired at every stop. Try something new and bold.

I think the pressure will be greater in Boston. With 3 all-stars in Tatum, Brown, and Walker, who are all getting paid all-star money, the expectation is that Boston should compete in the East. The pressure in Boston is much higher than it is in Portland, who is more of a dark horse candidate and only has one all-star. Portland is less of a pressure cooker.
