The two was two players that dominant the ball 90 percent of the time. Dame dominant the ball a lot but not those guys. Plus I don't know you can get much more out Dame then he gives but I sure don't want a guard going for 40 every night where there other players are not involved.

I believe those two both led the league in assists or were very close to doing so. Again, MDA is not the end all, but it's surprising how much lack of credit he gets for some of the things he has inovated or done. As Blazers fans, we would be PISSED if 2 of our main guys were suspended in a CF when we were again in the process of beating a dynasty only to have the opportunity taken away. He was thisclose to taking out the Spurs and the Warriors....2 of the most successful teams in the last 20+ years.

Not sure how either of those things are surprising; especially given that the premise is true.
First step to winning a championship is, ya know, actually advancing in the playoffs.
    Simple logic surprises you? Odd.

And apparently did it while being a shitty coach AND without playing defense according to this board.

I’m glad someone else is being level headed about MDA. Dude can coach.

I doubt Billups would be interviewing a 2nd time with Boston if the Portland job was his...and he wanted it

Lol this makes no sense. You should always complete the interview process with all your options in the pipeline even if you aren’t interested in one of the companies. Having competing offers let’s you negotiate higher offers with the company (or team in this case) you actually want. Now I don’t know which team Chauncey is actually interested in, but interviewing a second time with Boston is just doing his due diligence and doesn’t speak to his other offers.

this is just my experience interviewing for “regular” jobs, but I can’t see why it would be different for NBA coaching positions, particularly if Billups is in high demand. There’s significant pay difference with coaching positions Theres absolutely no reason Billups should do anything less than try to get the best offer.

Neil never leaks anything. In trades or free agency everything comes out of nowhere by Woj. Don’t be surprised if it’s someone you never expected

I think Joeger is underappreciated. His teams have improved every single season except 1 in his coaching career. Then he also won something like 5 title over a 7 year span in the 'minor' leagues. His last year in SAC, he coached them to more wins than they have had in ~15 years.

Which is why he hands it over to guys like Bzdelik. Which Terry had brought in a defensive minded coach. Houston was quite good some years.

I already posted MDAs defensive ranking for all his head coaching years

    Top 10 twice
    Top 20 seven times
    Bottom 10 seven times

virtually the same % as Stotts with us

...just with more success. And did he every finish as poorly as Stotts has the last 2 years?
If the NBA doesn't suspend 2 Suns or Paul doesn't tweak his hammy, and he wins both of those titles, I wonder what people would say. Especially against those two dynasties.

IMO, MDA gets no further with our miss matched roster that Stotts did. Seriously, CJ, Melo, Kanter all having major roles is a recipe for disaster

I think if we do hire MDA then we are definitely trading CJ. The Rockets shot like zero mid range shots and that's CJ's bread and butter. Sure he could change up his system but I highly doubt that imo.

Premonition, we hire the first women head coach (Becky) so Neil can get tons of accolades and PR, and put us on the map!

Well, MDA would not have played Melo or Kanter.
