If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

Out of all the guys we have talked about on here, he is the most obtainable.

Philly has to do something. They can't just run it back. They're in the same boat we are. They're on a treadmill and they can't keep expecting different results.

If Simmons is the guy, you try to make it happen quick so you can hire a coach that you're confident can unlock his potential.

    Saying this for years
It's one of the toughest markets for running a sports team. Definitely on a par with New York, Boston and Chicago. Look at the lifespan of coaches, GMs, quarterbacks, star players ... Andy Reid is the one notable exception, and they eventually ran him off. It doesn't take long for the fan base and media to turn on them, and they aren't the only game in town.

For cripes sakes, the fans threw iceballs at Santa Claus at an Eagles game.

Pressure to win is extremely high. There's going to be a strong push for them to do something big.

    CJ <=> Simmons swap

Follow that up with a 3 way where Nurk leaves & we get Myles Turner.

I like the potential of this team....

    Dame, Norm, Roco, Simmons, Turner
    Simons, Little, Zach, Kanter

We'll have to give up more than just Nurk to get Turner in my opinion. That being said, I would love that starting lineup.

CJ's coach and star teammate never threw him under the bus in postgame interviews after a loss.

CJ never got clowned by every media person after an embarrassing loss. Shaq said if he were Ben's teammate, he woulda "knocked his ass out."

i am guessing Ben asks out this summer via rich paul. Needs a change of scenery in the worst way.

Trade for Simmons and then try to convince DeRozan to come ring chase. Have Norm call him up.

that spacing is a recipe for disaster.

if we get Simmons, i want to explore all trade opps for a big who can be a shooting threat. the sad thing is Collins fits the mold perfectly but i don't trust his health.

keep going back to PJ Washington or Larry Nance.

This feels like the setup for an argument to sign Meyers as a FA.

If we get Simmons we can't afford to trade for another guy that can't shoot.

    Portland get-Simmons and Barnes
    Sac get-Curry and Derrick Jones
    Philly get- CJ and RoCo
Dame, Powell, Barnes, Simmons, and Nurk is a very solid starting 5 that can compete on both end of the floor. I would like to trade Nurk as much as I do like him, but realistically there isn’t a trade that make sense. It does give me hope that he shot really well from 3s, maybe he can teach Simmons a thing or two on how to improve on shooting lol

In the modern NBA, Ben Simmons' position is center. If we acquire him, we have to trade Nurkic. Maybe we re-sign Kanter for emergencies where we are getting destroyed on the boards, but for the most part you make our own version of Golden State's "death lineup" with Dame, Powel, Roco, (a forward we trade Nurk for and/or Little) and Simmons playing the Draymond role.

You keep around guys like Kanter and Zach Collins because sometimes you just need more size, just like the Warriors always did.

Are we as good as that GS team? No. That was an all-time great lineup. But we've got the Walmart version, which is still pretty damned good and enough to contend if things go right.

Derozan is a horrific fit next to Dame+Simmons.

The last thing Sacramento needs is another guard. They have Fox, Hield, Haliburton, Wright...

Damn I was just joking. DeRozan isn’t signing here for the MLE.

"i am who i am, it is what it is", meaning: "ill never shoot mid range or 3-pointers and ill pass on wide open layups"

id love to have him for his ability to defend, pass and rebound, but that stubbornness is head scratching

still, love me some front court defense with nurk, simmons and roco

I don't really know what I'd expect him to say. "I'm a little bitch for not taking the wide open dunk and letting the team down by disappearing as a scorer."?

Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself even when you know you've utterly failed. The strength to get back up on your feet has to come from somewhere. He's going to be shit on by everyone for months to come (or at least until somebody else becomes the collective villain) no matter what he says.

Still, yeah he'd be the perfect complement to Dame. You get Simmons for the first 42 minutes of the game. And then it's Dame Time.

You can't even hack Simmons a lot or you put your team in foul trouble, where Dame will absolutely feast. He was 3rd in the league already in free throw attempts without Ben's help.

Yeh, his comment kind of sounds like loser mentality.
