If Nurk were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

I have been looking around and it's much harder to find an obvious landing spot for Nurk than it is for CJ.

    Thoughts?

I don't think many teams want real centers. Drummond is a pretty good center (rebounding, shot blocking, etc.) and he was of little interest. Cousins has been available for cheap for YEARS.

I like Nurk, especially at his price, and I think he is more valuable to the Blazers than anything we could get for him, so we should keep him unless we can upgrade at the center spot (KAT).

Either way, this is actually a positive for the team's ability to retain him as an asset. Not much money out there for him unfortunately, especially given the league's general distancing from traditional Centers.

If we can land Simmons, I want to go all in on a small ball team by getting a defensive forward who can rebound and be a 3pt threat. Switchability is key, and if we can switch 3-5, that's invaluable in the playoffs as we are seeing.

I would LOVE to pair Jerami Grant with Simmons..... I'm just wondering if some combo of Nurk/Simons/Little could get him.

    Yep.

    Nurk for Kuzma/22nd Pick
    Nurk/DJ for Barnes

Zach Collins can be a token starter or something, but get someone that can conceivably play in the 4th quarters of close playoff games WITH Simmons.

Dan Marang (in his podcast today about CJ) said he is doing another on on Nurkic and in asking around, found that his value is decent.

If Collins could ACTUALLY consistently shoot three, he would be fucking perfect at center with Simmons.

Potentially elite defender. Supposedly a good outside shooter. The guy NEEDS to finally pay off.

    Dame
    Norm
    RoCo
    Simmons
Collins (healthy and living up to his potential)

    That's a championship team.

they have a rookie center who is balling in isaiah stewart.

put up 13/11 PER 36 as a 19yr old with great efficiency. highly doubt they'd want nurk.

Kuzma turned himself into a good defender this year. He kind of had to because his offensive role was limited. But either way, he's on a team friendly contract, he can space the floor, and he can play 2-3 positions. That's valuable. He's a buy low kind of guy.

Yeah, ship has sailed on Collins being more than a 20 MPG role player. I'm happy if he can be just that.

Who is he asking, other team's reporters? I just find it hard to believe that an oft-injured center on the last year of his deal really has much positive value. I think other teams would be happy to buy low on him, but I doubt we'd get any significant value.

Gobert, a traditional defensive oriented Center, was ineffective against the switching Clips, who used a Morris Twin as their big. They switched everything, and it worked.

So, getting a PF back for Nurk would be possible.

It worked specifically in that series because Gobert outside of catching lobs has no offensive game whatsoever. Nurk is at least a threat to post up, regardless of how maddening his quick flips are around the basket. And he is a threat as a passer from the high post. So we could at least have a similar advantage on our end as small teams would on their end. This C is dead stuff because of one series, and one particular C, is a bit overblown, IMO.

also worked because batum/george/leonard were unbelievable on defense-- nico especially was all over the place ( i hate that we didn't get him instead of Melo).

we need to target these 6-7 to 6-10 guys who can switch everything. Roco is a good start.

oh hell no. Like the guy, hate the player. He and melo can go back to NY.
