If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

I find that hard to believe, but if true, CJ would make a great 6th man. Move Powell to the starting 2, and bring CJ off the bench.

Although, I think Olshey will do his due diligence to see what value CJ has around the league. But that’s IF Powell is coming back.

If keeping CJ costs us Powell + the balance we could have achieved with what we got for CJ and keeping Powell, that seems incredibly idiotic.

It's getting to the point where I"m going to stop following the team until Neil is gone.

Unconfirmed news drives you crazy? I’m not a big Neil fan, but this is a bit dramatic.

Why the fuck would we assure cj of that? Everyone should be on the table except Dame

If we don't trade CJ this offseason, and we think we can just run it back with a different coach, I'm going to seriously unplug from the team.

Both teams are posturing trying to keep the value of their guys high.

There’s a lot more variables at play. I doubt announcing to the world that we need a change is going to help Neil’s odds of getting decent value.

I would like to move on from CJ as well, but only if it improves the roster.

Then again, ask Eric Gordon about Neil's promises....

There's a difference between advertising that someone is on the table, and potentially assuring them that they're not going to be traded.

A new coach could help - but realistically the coaching may have gotten us into the 2nd round. In no way was this team a legit championship contender the way it was constructed. We may see some small improvements - but a new coach will not materially change the coarse for the Blazers.

Agreed. I don't see any other way Portland can significantly improve the team.

If Powell (say $20M/yr) re-signs, Blazers will really only have the Tax MLE ($6M) and vet mins to fill out the roster (besides re-signing our own FA players). I just went through the excersize earlier today & that team would have a total payroll cost of ~$250M... Just not good enough.

If Powell doesn't re-sign, Portland could possibly use the full MLE ($9.5M) but they'd have to fill out the rest of the roster with MIN contracts.
Here's a link to that post: Norm Powell Contract

I'm already starting to... Living in Arizona, the Suns are converting me. I LOVE how they play as a team & play D.

Neil doesn't have to 'announce' that CJ is on the trade board. Just don't go around promising that he will not be traded.

If Powell's agent tells Neil he's not going to sign with us, I think Neil trading CJ would be an extreme long shot.

Which would mean Neil lost yet ANOTHER player for absolutely nothing.
