Obviously everyone is entitled to an opinion. Mine is that endorsing wife beaters and potential sex offenders is in fact a reflection of your character.

Blazers reddit is a cancer anyway. Full of sjw's that you better not disagree with or they all get butthurt and start treating you like shit. Literal cancel culture sub.

For sure, I hear you.. it would make life easier.

I guess I try to put myself in the shoes of someone who was falsely accused (again, not saying Billups). Do they deserve a life punishment of not being a candidate for high profile positions?

By the way, Dave's Killer Bread is the "official bread" of the Portland Trailblazers (as we are reminded on every broadcast), and that company was literally started by a convicted felon. I know Dave Dahl isn't coaching the team but it's a pretty visible sponsorship that shows up in various places on the Blazers periphery. Where's the outrage here?

And putting the two in the same sentence is a reflection of yours.

Totally... that's my point... unless you've walked in those shoes, you probably should project what that feels like. Same goes for coming forward with a legit accusation and being dismissed.

Isn't everyone a "potential sex offender" in the sense that they could be? Seems like an odd designation.

I believe Dave's Killer Bread became the official bread after Dave and his family sold the company.

Fair enough, but I don't think anyone thought about this enough to even knows that detail either way.

Your position seems to be the consensus. And it shouldn't surprise me, but it does.

The point isn't about canceling Billups as much as it's about why spend all these years building and lauding this "culture" just to turn away from it? And for Chauncey Billups of all people? It essentially negates that narrative, THE narrative Olshey most loves to discuss so much.

I agree that a credible rape allegation is more than baggage.

My concern is who decides what is credible and what isn't? The legal system? If the media reports it vs it happening behind closed doors? Canzano? Twitter?

Wife beaters and sex offenders shouldn't be given opportunity to contribute to society in the manner in which they'd be most effectively able to do so?

how are they still operating? Who reads that shit anyway? I only accidentally run across their stuff and it always has a negative backdrop, no matter the subject.

    credible in the sense that

    He was there
He admitted to sex with her
She named him as an offender
His story of it being at his house
    Rape kit shows potential rape
Nurse called police after rape kit

That’s credible to me and should give any rational person some hesitation in endorsing him

That being said, I’m sure he’s been vetted a few times, and seems to pass, so in that case you kinda have to give him the benefit of the doubt

What about accused sex offenders that were never charged or convicted?
