except of course for the damn heat. Was camping at 7600' with plenty of shade, so it wasn't a heat wave up there. Came Home today and saw Salem had a high of 116 at 3:20. WTF?

so, Billups...right? Correct me if I'm wrong about this but does he only have one season of assistant coach experience? I mean, only 1 year? And now he's Portland's head coach at a time there are questions about Dame's patience with Blazer failures?

and he got a 5 year contract? Is that normal for a coach with only one year of coaching experience? I really don't know. I'm not overly concerned about the settlement of allegations 20 years ago. It does seem to me that there could be other candidates that aren't carrying that kind of baggage around. Seems like Udoka didn't even get a call

Portland looks like an unsettled mess right now. Maybe it's not really that way but it sure looks like it. There is only one author of that story

I think most of us are just really tired of the coaching firestorm; we just want it to be done and get on with possible trades, hopefully buying a draft pick, free agency and summer league.

Seem's there has been a bit of a trend of hiring ex players as coaches regardless if they've served an apprenticeship or not. I would have been good with Udoka but I heard someone comment that he was involved in luring LA away while sitting on SA bench?
Maybe Billups can help with enticing FA's or players via trade?

No, nothing much happening. Made an agreement with Billups to be the head coach, as expected. No trades; no legit trade rumors. Just hot summer days.

    And lots of this:

Oh yeah, it slipped my mind. Dame is on the Olympic team. As expected.

So no surprises and nothing to get too excited about so far.

The head coach of an NBA team has to have respect from his players above all else. Experienced assistant coaches can scheme and help with in game things

How many years did Kerr, Nash and others have?
