I think if she inherited Pauls Net worth (in addition to whatever she had before), she'd be top 5 probably.

as you already know, im big nurk believer and i firmly believe he can become all-star level player (injuries, terry stotts & nurk himself prevented that from happening so far), but it was really encouraging to see chauncey billups give praise to nurk and speak how he can score more than he has done in the past, how hes a good facilitator and therefore should have ball in his hands which suits nurks game and if the blazers execute that, our team will play much more enjoying bball, which is pretty much obvious, ball & player movement is always more fun than heavy iso bball and it makes your team harden to stop

hopefully were gonna see a lot of new plays offensively, first and foremost im hoping for a lot of cutting to the basket & pnr (both of those plays will bring the best out of nurk), but nurk as a roll man can also find an open man in the paint (do you remember how we worked with noah vonleh) or open man at the three point line and thats why i was saying nurks role was diminished, hes like swiss army knife on offense, a player than can do multiple things that benefits the entire team

obviously, nurk needs to work on his conditioning & improve his game during summer (work on his finishing, learn some low post moves & keep improving 3-pointer), so if im nurk, after watching chauncey billups press conference, where he clearly stated how much he appreciates nurk, im taking a little vacation and then going to work on my body and my game, as this is the opportunity nurk has waited his whole career (but also its his contract year)

having dame & cj mccollum play off the ball more than they have done in the past has me excited, but im also exited to see what can chauncey do with our defense, hopefully he has some schemes that can make nurk a difference maker and not a guy whos duty is to save everyones lives and hopefully he puts out there a players that are good fit with each other and not kanter & carmelo

coaching matters and im sure this team will be better even without bigger changes, but lets all hope there will be bigger changes!

I like where your head is at, and I don't want to piss in your punch, but....
this feels like the LeBron presser where he tells everyone how much he likes the young guys, and then does everything he can to trade them away.

We still don't know what the team will look like when the season starts - Nurk and/or CJ might not even be on it.

I love what Nurk is capable of on the court, and love the impact he has on our defense. I too believe he can play all-star caliber basketball.

    I just don't trust him.

I don't trust him to stay healthy. I don't trust him to stay out of foul trouble. I don't trust him to stay engaged all throughout a game. I don't trust him to not let opposing players, or referees, or unfortunate circumstances mess with his head. I don't trust him to put the ball in the basket when he is one foot away from it. And I don't think I'm alone in those sentiments.

As good as the guy can be, I don't think the team can rely upon a player that they can't trust.

I do - and I don't understand the appeal of it whatsoever - but there's no question a lot of them. I don't wish any ill will towards the WNBA, but it's true that if you catch a few minutes of most games, you won't see large crowds. Atlanta is playing a in a 3,500 seat arena and drawing around 1,000 per game.

Neil and others (Dame too) did the screening/interviews and Jody & Bert made the hire, as Clyde would say "No doubt about it"

Actually i believe Terry Porter was the originator of the "NO Doubt About IT", Back in the Day. TP used that more than any other Blazer. Like Dwight would ask Terry, do you think you guys have the advantage, going into this series. And Terry would respond, "Oh, No doubt about it". Sorry Hoops. But fun to reminisce .

I never really thought of it like that, but yeah, you're right. I don't trust him either. He's just kind of flaky and high maintenance. Sometimes he's more Bosnian Ballerina than Beast.

I hope that we can acquire Simmons AND that he's capable of playing center for us AND that he'll enjoy doing so AND that we can parlay Nurk into a quality forward. I admit that's far from a certainty, but it's probably more of a certainty than Nurk playing 100% of what he's capable of in the playoffs.

But neither of these things has happened yet.

    Not a hater--just acknowledging how I feel.

I would LOVE for Nurk to play at an all-star level. If he returns to Bosnian Beast mode, nobody will be happier than me. But he'll have to show it before I can believe it, and even if, I'll probably still have niggling doubts in the back of my mind.

Would love Nurk to work on a sky hook. He has a little hook he's used, but a Kareem -style Hook would be fabulous & unstoppable. Get the message out to him. I don't twitter.

I understand and respect your feelings. However, it's not just a matter of "love the impact he has on our defense", it's "our defense totally sucks ass when he's not on the court - we absolutely NEED him."

There are people in our lives that we need (girlfriend, wife, parent, sibling, friend,....). Even if you don't trust them, you still need them.

I have a much higher opinion of Olshey than most here, but I don't think he'll be able to find someone who can replace what Nurk brings to our team defense.

    Our defense
    1. under Stotts, and
    2. built around Nurkic,
absolutely sucked without him. And we saw that all too often when he and his unreliability caused him to be off the floor.

1 is no longer the case, and 2 doesn't necessarily have to be. I believe that Chauncey and his staff (whoever they may be) can install a defense that is capable of functioning adequately without Nurkic's presence. Pollyanna of me, perhaps, but I trust the new coach more than I do the old center.

I have a hundred friends who love basketball. None who like to watch the WNBA. If “basketball is basketball” then I would think some would watch WNBA.

Sadly, some men seem to think if they watch women's basketball their penises will fall off or something. I had one guy tell me the women "don't turn him on". Hey, the male players don't turn me on. I just like the game.

I don’t watch the WNBA for a very simple reason: it’s fucking boring. You see higher quality of basketball in high school, and I don’t watch that either (unless it’s to see some super prospect like Chet Holmgren hahaha)

btw NASCAR is even more boring, but it’s at least popular in some of the dumber parts of the country.

Chris Paul just referred to Chauncey Billups as a big brother figure. Where is the outrage?

I think Dame, Powell and Ant are gonna enjoy Billups and all become better players for this new relationship! Add a Lou Williams type and our guard core will be strong.

    trade CJ for Simmons

then re-sign my boys Melo & Kanter

    give Collins one more shot

Hire Sheed to toughen up Nurk

find a Free Agent PF - like a Crowder type.

    go Blazers
