Or is it even a holiday to you anymore? We're going to some rooftop establishment downtown to watch the fireworks. Nashville is telling us that they plan to make up for last year's lack of show. We shall see. Oh, and I'm smoking my first beef brisket. Seems pretty straight forward, other than the time it'll take. Pellet stove.
We are having a BBQ and then will be going to watch the Fireworks display in town. Still going to be close to 100 so not to much going on outdoors.
I'll be in Seattle. No clue what to do for fireworks, gonna be out in the Everett area. Saturday gonna go to Friday Harbor. Saturday, nephew B-day party in the afternoon.
Heading to Central Oregon. Probably ride some trails and float the Deschutes. Also going to pray that some idiot somewhere doesn't start a fire that burns down the entire state.
fireworks....bah humbug....I never understood celebrating the end of a bloody war by setting off explosions...to me a day of silence would be more fitting of independence day than pyromania on full display I'll be staying home listening to every dog on the mountain howling
Same thing I do everyday when not working (when working, insert work between wake up and lounge on the beach). wake up. lounge on beach. snorkel. drink and snack. repeat everything after waking up 3-5 times. head home. bbq. relax. sleep. rinse and repeat.
Down here in the South, when someone says BBQ, they're talking about smoked/shredded pork, beef brisket, or such. I've had to learn to use the term "grill out" around these parts. LOL I'll certainly eat it, but BBQ (the shredded pork kind w/bbq sauce on or without buns) is not really one of my favorites. That said, I DO luv me some smoked pork ribs!! As I noted above, though, I'm smoking a beef brisket for the first time - starting very early tomorrow morning.
