One man's "summer league" is another man's prove-it tryout.

Didn’t Billups say he knows some players who play great when they’re high as fuck?

Clearly he's being signed to make up for Dames production, after he is traded to the Lakers for their crap.

This is all about getting the spotlight off Billups.

are you kidding me? he's one of the most respected people in the NBA & Fandom. The spotlight f a persons character always dispel's darkness and negativity. He's destine for greatness, look at how the spot light has molded Dame Lillard. Even in Stump Town USA

Not to be snarky, but this is less a "spotlight" and more like lighting a votive candle in the chapel of the Titanic.

I don’t think people realize how well respected Billups is around the league. Literally everyone associated with the NBA loves him

Have you not been reading NBA news since Billup’s hiring? There have been multiple articles about what a pr disaster it was, and how his past is a problem. The Beasley signing helps to change the topic.

I would highly advise not reading the NBA rumor mill...it's not news...it's lobbying for the Dame sweepstakes and it's well financed from the largest markets in the game..It's the new way to buy a player...cause some panic around his home and sow doubt all around his future ...the only bad thing we're going through is our own fairweather fanbase and it's meltdown from within ..it's our fans that will accomplish what the big teams want to see happen......they are the ones who set him up to become a Laker, Bull or Knick..I'm banking on Dame to have people around him that will keep that from happening...this is where a guy like Melo or CJ Chauncey .can intervene I wouldn't be surprised if Terry Stotts helps him through it as a friend and ex coach

Nobody cares about Michael Beasley. He’s 32 and a total non factor in the NBA.

Sports Illustrated ran one of the articles on Billups, and I doubt they are lobbying to get him. Practically every respectable news outlet has weighed in, and I haven’t seen one positive article yet. You can call it a rumor mill if you like, but this is what people in NBA circles are talking about.

sports editorials are bought and paid for by people like Jeannie Buss or Lebron or Spike Lee ....money talks in the world of media....don't feed it any substance because it doesn't have any. NBA circles mean big market agents...It sells magazines and clicks online

Never know...if we go out and get a superstar to pair with Dame we'll need those super cheap guys on the bench ..he's better than Caleb Swanigan I'll bet
