As an assistant coach I’m not sure there is anything to not be optimistic about. Been in league forever and been a HC, and an assistant before for some good teams. The Wizards got better as the season went on last year. They started off awful and went to the playoffs. The team didn’t quit.

Couple people making connections to a couple of ideas. Players coming here like to have an idea of what and who they are playing with and for.

A number have said Billups could bring free agents. I think Brooks could as well. It's all about people and the system they are running.

Agreed. If we bring in Lionel Hollins I think Marc Gasol would make an excellent back-up to Nurk. We could run the same stuff with his passing and he'd stretch the court a little further as well.

Wait a tic, the most hated person on this board besides me is Russell Westbrook…… this man is responsible for everything Russ did that led to all the hate.

Pretty basic and fundamental. Must give him time to put together a staff, draft, make any player changes if agreed upon and fill out roster, fall camp, and then see how the season unfolds.
We have a player thats many consider a super star and if we get the right players and schemes, no reason we should not be in contention.

That is true. I think is a good fit and nothing to do wrong with hiring him (as he should know that he is not the HC). Also think the Wizards did good under his lead.

Experience. Do you think we should have Vanderpool? I’m wondering why he hasn’t got serious interest yet as a head coach candidate. I’m not opposed to him. But not just because he’s friendly with Lillard

As long as it doesn't take 5 years to figure it out and then another 4 to do something about it.

Well Washington is not very good team with him or without as a coach. You got have some type quality players outside from Beal and Westbrook. He have a few good young players but not enough to get you over the top even in the east.

That’s the only thing I like about Westbrook.
