Not endorsing this trade, but if Dame suddenly demanded a trade and we decided to rebuild, this would be a way to get some picks. #2 and a couple more from Houston - maybe in coming drafts Either a future first or maybe Tyrese Maxey from Philly Taking on Wall's contract is not ideal, but I can't see Houston loading up with BOTH Wall and Simmons. (I would take Evan Mobley with the #2. I know Jalen Green is the sexy pick, but Mobley is a transformative player on D.)
Plus 10 1st rounders, no protected picks. Plus at least 1 Billion of Rockets owner Mr. Fertitties CASH. Nawwww, still not enough.
Plus A signed statement for right of 1st refusal if Dame was to be traded again. Damn, still not enough.
Every Blazer Fan on Earth gets 1 million non taxable dollars. We're almost there. Still not enough though.
If Olshey would just buck up and do his fucking job, it would not be a forgone conclusion that we can't win here with Dame. The fact that Philly needs a player like CJ and has an asset that probably needs moved with the talent of Simmons just shows you the kind of possibilities that are out there. It wouldn't be easy and it definitely wouldn't be as easy as all of the shit you've been suggesting but it's doable. Unfortunately I don't trust Neil to do the harder and best thing. I think you might get what you wish for and he might blow it up because that lowers expectations and buys him more time than going all in on Dame and making the bold moves he should have over the last six years that would have made us a contender with the best Blazer ever.
If we did trade Dame to the Warriors because Neil has given up and if they were the very best option then it would have to be Dame for Wiggins, Wiseman and the 7th and 14th picks. I would then trade CJ to the Knicks for Quickley and the 19th and 21st. Obviously, I'd continue to blow it up by trading Nurk and RoCo for whatever young and draft assets we can get. Still I'd rather see us trade Dame to the Sixers for a package that includes Simmons and let that start the blowup... maybe just maybe all of the warning signs are paranoia and Neil will make meaningful moves to build a contender around Dame.
I think dame really is gone this time. I use to believe him on the blazer for life thing he always says but there’s just to much smoke not to be fire eventually. Honestly good for him. I been saying for awhile he needs to leave this franchise he’s to good for it.
This is a shit attitude. First of all I don't think Dame is bailing on the team. I think he gave Neil marching orders to make this team a contender or trade him to one and Neil is going to take the easy way out and instead of putting the pressure on himself to actually get creative and give Dame the complementary pieces to contend, he'll just blow it up and lower all expectations. I think right now would actually be the easiest time to make this team a contender around Dame. We have CJ's trade value which if Dame is taken off the table for other teams CJ becomes a good piece to teams that like Dame because they are so damn redundant. We also have Bird rights on a SG in Norm who actually complements Dame. Easily you could swing a three team trade with the Knicks who have shown interest in the past of pairing CJ with Randle. Take what the Knicks will give up and get a forward in here that is a good second option. Or since they've shown interest in CJ in the past too and national media thinks it makes sense, attach some future draft assets to CJ for Ben Simmons, then get what you can for Nurk and sign Bobby Portis with less than the taxpayer MLE by telling him he'll start. Dame, Norm, Simmons, RoCo, Portis, what you get for Nurk, Ant, Nas, DJ could contend and appease Dame. Dame isn't better off leaving. Dame would be better off if he could do what he's always said and stay with the Blazers and win here. He just has a shitty GM that isn't willing or maybe able to make that happen. Also you're not a fan of the team if you think any player is "to [sic] good for it." I'm usually OK with your BS but if you think that we're not a good enough franchise for great players just go find a team that is.
If Dame has to go you get him to GS for Wiseman, Wiggins, 7, 14 and a 2026 1st Then move CJ, Nurk, RoCo for youth and picks and START THE FUCK OVER
Hate to say it i think he’s definitely considering it. He was always emphatic about staying now seems to be cryptic and just denying. Normally it’s more sincere I want to finish my career as blazer
Potential deal: "Lillard and [Jusuf] Nurkic to the Warriors for [Andrew] Wiggins, [James] Wiseman, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, picks 7 and 14 in 2021 and the Warriors’ first-round picks in 2022 and 2026."
If Dame is putting pressure for the trade then i hope we get Wiggins and Wiseman and the two picks. It would be a steal. And then i'll pull for Golden State not to win jack shit for the whole time he's there.
LMAO, Too good for it? Why? This is a great franchise and has taken care of him. Fuck that shit. And Fuck him if he wants out.
