You sound like the people who never had an issue dealing with extremely overpriced housing.

Honestly, 300,000 acres ain’t shit in the grand scheme of things.

I remember about 20 years ago my uncles friend had nearly 100,000 acres of property outside of East St Louis that he hunted on and fished on the multiple lakes

(Checks pulse—yup still alive) Let’s just say the current housing price run up isn’t doing much to help my retirement plans.

Edit: Housing prices aren’t the only way to make home ownership tough. I also lived through the sky-high interest rates of the late 1970’s and early 80’s. Home interest rates hit 19% during those years (right when my family was growing and we needed a bigger place). Yeah, we were only looking to finance $80,000 or so, but 19% interest on that figures to be about $1,300 a month. Add another $200 or so for property taxes and that’s more than I was making a month then.

I have a full time job that pays well over minimum wage and I still have to live in an apartment with a roommate.

It's ludicrous. Minimum wage was made so people can live off of it. I'm making well over that and it's hard to even save.

Couple that with illnesses and all...

Let's just say if this doesn't get under control the houseless problem now will look small comparatively.

I've seen East St. Louis and you don't want to live there. They will confiscate your all wheel drive vehicle for driving in the winter snow there.

Cost of housing in Oregon as a percentage of income is one of the highest in the nation.

Oregon is also in the top 2 or 3 states for most people moving to. Supply and Demand is pushing the prices up and wages are not going with it.

Total homeless (the default) is a horrible way to view this. What you need is homeless to population ratios for each state.

Basically, Coastal states with better weather and entertainment have more homeless.

I can't read anything on that site. Big ad asking for money I can't find a way to close.

I do think the total shows all we really need to know. California is screwing over it's workers. But that is the case all over America nowadays.
