    Here's the deal:
    1. Olshey wanted Billups all along.
    2. Olshey saw the accusation as a minor inconvenience.
    3. Olshey treated it as such.
    4. Y'all seem to agree.

True, but you have to try. Maybe they did, but if they didn't, that's pretty half-assed.

I disagree. There is no benefit reaching out to the accuser (or her lawyer).
People's memories are terrible at being completely accurate. Memories change and morph over time (and get less accurate).

The research should have been a thorough review of all the court documents, police reports/notes, etc. that were created in 1997.

Chauncey is not the reason you don't like Olshey...I think you're making wild assumptions....Chauncey is married to his high school girlfriend who was around when this occured...he's talked with his daughters about it and his wife...if anyone is going to give him more than a "minor inconvenience" ..it's the four women in his family...you can stir this shit up as many times as you like but it's beginning to feel like your outrage is winning over your perspective...my two cents...I heard a man speaking some heart felt truth when he said it changed his life and he learned not to have the wrong people around him...he didn't flinch, smirk, give any hint of fear around it....it's time to accept this man is our coach...or walk the walk and not support the franchise. I'm now solidly believing what my common sense tells me about this case...if you're truly morally outraged...you have every right to boycott the Blazers.

Yep, I agree, if you cannot support the new coach the gm and and have strong feelings about it, find another team or sport to support. I personally couldn't be a fan of a team when everyday I struggled with the leadership.

I can't stand Olshey but I've been a Blazers fan for decades before Olshey and will be decades after. I don't think I should be a fair weather fan and find another team or sport.

Not liking the gm is one thing, obsessing over the gm and coach or anything the gm does could be depressing?
Im thinking the gm did well in hiring Chauncey, but we will have to see what he can do.

I predict a great off-season for Olshey. He's a really good GM with some obvious flaws. Getting Billups was an A+ move.

Honest question... what would a 'great off-season' look like?

Portland doesn't have any draft picks this summer.

In FA, Portland only has the tax MLE (~$6M) or minimum contracts to spend (outside of re-signing our own FA).

It doesn't feel like there are enough tools available to have a 'great' off-season.

a lot of teams are in the same position, at least in free agency. I also look at either CJ or Norm (s&t) as possible trade pieces. I don’t think both will return. They also have draft picks to trade again and I expect that’ll be the most realistic avenue to upgrade the team. I’m expecting another Roco type deal, especially if/when DJJ picks up his option.

I think we're going to see a lot more of our young bench players in the rotation and that the hope will be Chauncey Brooks and Rogers can turn Ant, Elleby, Nas and Giles into NBA two way players...Olshey said when he announced Stotts was no longer the coach that we didn't need draft picks because we didn't play them anyway so I think they'll play them now with the salary concerns...we will also probably find the Moses Brown, Jalen Hoard type 2 way players...I think Norm comes back but Melo and Kanter and Collins are gone..DJJ probably as well the mystery will be CJ...that's the needle mover piece but who knows

it's like twitter, they get in those little groupthink bubbles and they force out anyone that doesn't agree with the herd and they think they have righteousness on their sides so they can't do any wrong and they are on a moral crusade for good, it's definitely cult behavior and reddit is really bad about that with the upvote and downvote sytem
