Kobe almost left the Lakers. But did he really? His pressure did lead to Shaq getting tossed out of Fake Land.

And Duncan almost signed with the Magic in free agency.

Kobe's requests came well after Shaq left. He had a well publicized video throwing his teammate Andrew Bynum under the bus while clamoring for (of all people...) Jason Kidd. Hell, he and his wife were looking at schools in Chicago that summer for their kids.

Dirk was almost traded to LA.

    This stuff happens.

Boy, I couldn't disagree more. If Olshey mushroom stamped Dame's forehead every day after practice I'd question my loyalty to the team.

You just can’t lose to a short handed Denver Gleague team. You just can’t. That series like I said before was worse than the Pelicans debacle. And that was BAD.

I've noticed that Dame hasn't posted much Blazers stuff on his feed. Nothing in his bio. Almost like he's a FA :NOTMARIS:

you can disagree all you want, but thats what loyalty means

its like saying: "ill be loyal to my wife while shes good looking, but when shes not, she wont be my wife anymore"

its easy to be "loyal" when its all god, but when the tough times come, its then when you show your true colors

To a job? I mean, yeah to the people you love, that's the way things work but when things sour in your place of business, a smart person moves on... especially after years and years of blind loyalty.

that sounds more like blind loyalty to me.

and I think Dame has been through a decent amount of tough times to prove his loyalty.

So did Dame get hoodwinked about or chances like so many others with that faux WCF run a couple years ago?

I'm just trying to understand why he seems to be so fed up all of a sudden. I get being frustrated, but this comes off as the spouse who has been begging for change for years and is now fed up and thinking about a divorce. Has he just internalized all his frustrations over the years and now it's all coming out?

Not for the past month or so (or since we got eliminated). Blazers IG account has been focusing on a different player each day. Only player's post he's really liked are Ant's, lol.

Wait a sec….. Didn’t AD get fined for publicity requesting a trade? What can Dame actually say but no comment or no?

It's sad that it has come to this. But, I'm not trading Lillard for peanuts. Didn't he just sign an extension?

Edit: how many years does he have left on his deal? I can't seem to find clear info on this. Does it expire at end of next season or is 2 more years?

personally, i never understood when fans get mad when players leave their team, like, they dont have to spend their entire career with one team

but when a player speaks a lot about loyalty and then requests a trade, that screams "hypocrisy"

usually id be fine with dame leaving, but not after the loyatly talks, i dont forget nor forgive (i would never insult him or wish him bad, but i would hold a grudge against him)

The timing of it doesn’t pass the smell test for me personally. Could be denial phase I guess. Just timing of it makes zero sense. Unless someone got in his ear all Grima Wormtongue style with USA.

    thanks for those quotes

I think this is Dame's most important quote:

"So I feel like at this point, I basically made the decision that if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll always be where you've always been"

yeah, I guess you could interpret that as calling out everybody Blazer, including himself.

but that really does seem like ordinance pointed directly at Olshey. That a 10th year of Olshey's dumpster-diving and low-risk transactions won't be accepted by Dame. Honestly, I don't see any reason why Dame would relieve any of the pressure on Olshey by coming out with any unequivocal "I-want-to-be-a-Blazer-always" statement. My take is that Dame has given 100% of himself to trying to win a championship in Portland and he doesn't believe management has the same commitment

I really wonder if a lot of Dame's dissatisfaction is with Seattle right now. I know a lot of Blazer fans have those doubts, including myself. If he feels ownership doesn't prioritize winning a championship then he may very well ask for a trade. I mean, has it looked at all like Seattle has cared about winning a title since PA died?

if Dame is traded, and Olshey is the one making the trade, I'm done being a Blazer fan for a long time. I can't believe that Olshey has been allowed to drive the Blazers into this deep a ditch. That's Seattle's fault
