My take away from this series is we may be closer than we think to being a team that at least has a shot if things go our way.

Milwaukee is not a great team, but they they play team basketball on both ends of the floor

Giannis > Dame but it’s not like Dame sucks

    Middleton >> CJ not close

but I think the Blazers have a better supporting cast. Things have to go our way, but it’s not dire

    Same goes for Phoenix

Woah, if the Bucks close this out then both Jrue and AD will get rings. Pelicans got to be rolling over in their graves for fucking it up.

We have no one even close to Jrue Holiday caliber.
    Not. Even. Close.

    Holiday
    Middleton
    Giannis

    Way, way better than

    Nurk
    CJ
    Dame

To win 4 straight is tough in the finals.

Looks like trading 3 picks and 2 swaps for Holiday is working out for Milwaukee.

I am glad for Pat though. Just funny if whoever trade for a Pelican player in offseason wins the next chip.

The chasm between Jrue Holiday’s defense and CJ’s defense is astronomical. One is an All-World, elite defender while the other plays defense like he’s in a 24 hour fitness run.

Can't disagree, too much. Defense (and a predictable offense) was a bigger issue than the roster (and the roster was an issue). You can have Kanter OR Melo, not Kanter AND Melo, and you can't have Kanter and Melo if the style of defense the team plays is "non existent".

That pass by Jrue reminds me of Gary Payton to The Reign Man

So is Scott Foster the referee for game 6? If not does he take Chris Paul out in game 7?

    Agreed.

I think it's a factor in most series'. You need multiple all-stars to take the pressure off each other. When you add length to those all-stars, you limit the effectiveness of doubles (can still pass or shoot over the top).

I want us to be the first team in many years to win a title without needing those things, but it seems highly unlikely.

Obviously letting him walk for nothing isn't great. But there a lot of guys like Pat in this league that can be effective when they have multiple stars who can take offensive and defensive pressure away from them. We need to get to that point first and I think finding guys like Pat won't be too difficult.
