Just read up a bit on her, she's impressive...graduated University of Oregon with a BA i sociology...great major for coach...she then went on the get a masters elsewhere, has worked as a global marketing assistant with Adidas...has connections all over the world...I think she's a great hire after reading up on her bio....in Maine they called her Eddie....not sure if it's a long or short "e" vowel sound..anyone know?I'd assume it's short "e" with the two consonants instead of one.
Completely agree. Got a friend down in the bay area. Total GS fan. We text back and forth all the time during the season. I texted him during game 4 of the finals and asked if he was watching. His answer? "I'm watching the Giant's game! As soon as the Warriors are out so am I. Next up NINERS!" Portland needs another sport other than Basketball and that game where they kick a ball and flop.
not sure how anyone can confidently praise or condemn any of the coaching hires until we see a season or two of results
https://ca.nba.com/news/list-of-female-assistant-coaches-in-the-nba/14oge3l57tj3b1ssx27sidf4fh There were 14 female assistant coaches last season. Now there are 15, presumably.
Billups must really like Edniesha Curry. Whether it's as a player development coach or just flat out as an assistant, she must be really impressive to make this leap. This is also good intell into what kind of head coach Billups will be, so I'm interested. I liked the Scott Brooks hire as the lead assistant, and Roy Rogers is said to have done well for defenses and helping a number of players. Communication. Player development. Sounds good for having players develop and building a team. Good. It will still come down to roster moves this summer by Olshey. Priority 1A: Keep Powell. Without this, swinging for the fences on a trade becomes harder. A sign and trade is not the direction to go. Priority 1B: Go for it on the big trade. Overpay if necessary. Compete? Contend? All in. Otherwise, it's acting from a position of weakness in a year. A good staff will be needed to bring the new team together.
So your saying you know more then Billups on his hire. She just might a great hire. Hell Maine probably wasn't getting the cream of the crop of recruiting circles.
STOP Posting.... I'm getting Like Button Carpal Tunnel! Seriously, I saw them hiring Billups ages ago, and them hiring a female coach ages ago as well. I'm quite sure that it has nothing to do with the bruhaha - it has more to do with a combination of Neil wanting to appear progressive and having a female owner. I'm confused that anyone thinks Neil is not going to do whatever the hell he wants.
Unless Chauncey wins a championship we can’t accurately do that until after Hammon is hired somewhere else.
