Several officers were attacked and injured. More than one died. One died after being beat up by the trumpets trying to get in. Funny you you skipped over replying to the gallows they built and hunting politicians part.
Ok. January 6th was bad, most can agree on that. It wasn’t anything even remotely close to what the leftist media tried to make it out to be, but it was bad. There are actually pundits out there saying it was a bigger threat than 9/11. On January 6th congress literally returned within hours. Punish those involved without subjecting the rest of the populace to tall tales.
You are making shit up. One cop died of a heart attack, and it was unrelated to other violence going on. The other death was a Trump supporter shot by police. These are facts. This is what happened. Those were the deaths. And how many were hanged in the prop gallows? Yeah, it’s stupid as fuck of course, and a stupid threatening way to try and send a message. I won’t argue that. But how many politicians can you really hang on a non functioning gallow? It looked like 3rd graders made it.
Excuse me, yes only one cop died, but he died of a stroke after being hit in the head by a fire extinguisher by rioters. It was determined the attack by rioters contributed to his death. It wasn't a prop gallow. The rioters got caught on camera yelling about finding and hanging the VP and other lawmakers.
Did the people lighting the fires kill anyone while chanting hang Mike Pence while erecting a gallows outside the Capitol during a formal affirmation of our new President? Did they smash the windows of the Capitol and force their way inside by hitting the Capitol police violently and brutally force their way inside? Did they violently try to stop a Constitutional process? Did they plant pipe bombs? Did they bring zip ties inside with them? Did they violently force their way into the House Chamber while in session and vandalize the place? God Damn it, it was our Capitol!
Not to mention these true patriots smeared shit, I mean literal shit, on the walls that Capitol janitorial staff, mostly people of color, had to scrub off.
One of the charged insurrectionists helpfully explained they weren't there to steal or break things, just to overthrow the government. Oh, OK then.
Certainly some of the participants thought that they were trying to overthrow the government, and certainly some of the participants were violent. I guess you could claim that those were two disjoint groups, but that seems pretty unlikely. Those people are called lying sacks of shit. We call it arson. barfo
