you cant compare regular season to the playoffs, its different bball when things are not working, you need to make a change, you simply cant keep doing the same thing over and over and hope for the best billups will make our offense great, i have no doubts about it, cause we have great personnel for offense, but i do agree that we need better personnel on defense (not carmelo and kanter, first and foremost)
Not necessarily. The 2-0 team was an almost completely different team, from the 0-3 teams, but after suffering what was deemed, a franchise changing loss in '96, with minimal ,though key, moves, won it all the next 2 years.
And they didn't add any superstar players. Just some key, even aging, veterans. And a hunger, and mindset to get it done.
I don’t think I can handle another Nurk/Jokic matchup in the playoffs. Joker barely has to break a sweat to put up 20/10/5 on Nurk. ….and sometimes by halftime
nurk was guarding jokic well (except for idiotic fouls) people act like jokic scored all of his pts over nurk have in mind that jokic is the mvp and top 10 player in the league and perhaps best center in the league
I would like Nurk to work on one skill at a time until he is really good at each. 1. Learn to keep the ball up high. 2. Learn how to dunk in traffic; he has the size and athleticism to be able to do this. 3. Perfect a short range shot facing the basket from 8-12 out. 4. work on his 3 pt. shot.
OK sure--if Nas has a Terrell-Davis-like production explosion next year, then this roster is contender level. I ain't hangin' my hat on that.
about the Gasol/Nurkic comparison on three's. I'd think one indicator of potential is FT% and Gasol has a career mark of 78% while Nurkic has a career mark of 67%. Nurkic has had one season of shooting over 70% on FT's. Gasol has had 12 obviously, this isn't a perfect gauge at all, but can indicate shooting ability. As good as Gasol has been, his career mark is only 36% on three's. If Nurkic can't hit 34-35% I would not want him shooting many at all, especially considering he has a career FT rate of .363
nurk was 12/30 (40%) on 3-pointers last season obviously small sample size, but it shows improvement in his shot compared to previous seasons - in his first 4 seasons, he was shooting 3-pointers 0-13 - in his 5th season, he was shooting 3-pointers 3-29 - in his 6th season, he was shooting 3-pointers (2-10), that was in the bubble after not playing 16 months
