If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

If the Pacers are giving up Turner and Warren for CJ, I would rather just take that deal and keep Nurkic. Warren is 4 years younger than Heyward and his efg% better in his last two full years played. Not as good a playmaker of course.

I would take that deal and at the very least shop Nurk. See if we could get a more versatile sixth man for him.

Dame, Norm, Warren, RoCo and Turner with Nurk as by far our best bench player just doesn't seem to be a maximization of talent. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but it would be the worst thing for Nurk's game... maybe he would beat out Turner but then we still have the same problem. Is it effective in today's NBA to have two of your four best players being true centers?

I do believe CJ is gone as long and this is what scares me is NeO does not get into he is a player WE drafted so WE value him 2x is value similar to what is happening in Philly with Ben Simmons only thing that makes me think NeO will trade him is the Dame walking being held over his head.

Not trading CJ to get into the TOP part of this Draft? Then Neil is a moron. Of course nothing is a guarantee, but this Draft could have several legit superstars down the road. Just want Dame needs. They may not be superstars in the ffirst season, but they will definately contribute and certainly could be better than CJ very soon.

    Defense matters. Congrats Bucks!

I will play Devil's advocate for a minute not to defend NeO but since we have no idea what team and pick is involved then it's possible it would be a mistake plus NeO would be drafting and outside of Dame and CJ who has he gotten in the 1st round that was good ...... YA --- stop trying to think about it the answer is no one cause Myers flopped and is out of the league and Collins is a walking injury and Celeb Swanigan is a happy meal ( or 10 ) from maybe being a sumo wrestler ok maybe not that bad but damn i think he has ballooned in weight so ya he was a bust.

Guys, it's obvious. If CJ can get the #3 pick then we can surely move the pick for a star level player next to Dame. Every year teams are looking to move their marquee player for a pick to save money and rebuild.

    CJ to Cleveland.

    #3 to Toronto.

    Siakam to Portland.

    Make it happen.

    I wouldn’t take Siakam over Suggs/Mobley

Siakam is a 3rd wheel/option - something Raptor fans constantly bitch about.

Yeah let’s add another 6’4 guard. That’s BRILLIANT! Actually that sounds exactly like what Neil would do.

If only I got a dollar for every time I heard some iteration of “this rookie would be better than this established player from day one”

The number of rookies that step into a playoff team and significantly contribute isn’t near the ones that don’t. We need proven vets and we need them now. We’ve got one maybe two years to contend with Dame. No time for maybes.

    1. What’s your point?
    2. Portland was a .500 team the year before they drafted Zach.

The same point that I made that summer. We needed a veteran player, not a project rookie.

I was with you until you said Dame's window is two years. Steph is two years older than Dame and besides being frail like he's always been he's just as productive as ever and doesn't look to be slowing down. Dame has four or five more years on top before he starts a slow decline. I think that like his fellow Oakland natives Kidd and Payton that Dame will play effectively past 40.

That doesn't take away from the fact that rightly so, Dame is in win now mode because regardless of if you're right on how long he'll be in his prime or not, there is urgency there. So picking up a 19 year old doesn't exactly make sense, especially because we know the draft is a gamble. So we have to trade CJ and whatever picks necessary, even if it takes multiple teams, for a forward who is a proven contributor at an all star level.

Oh you know what the roster is already? Please share. We’re a lot closer than we were back then.

One thing this tells me, is that, CJ is regarded a lot higher by other NBA GM's, then many here in S2.
