Beal might be asking for a trade.

You think Beal would be good for this team? I wouldn’t want to see another three guard lineup.

I think Beal would just be a better CJ.

beal is much better than cj

that being said, hes a poor fit, as we need forward upgrade

but hey, if you cant get forward, ill take beal and im sure dame would be happy with it

but i dont know why would wizards take cj

Yes, at offense, but the problem with Dame/CJ was their shitty defense. Beal would still be an undersized shooting guard who doesn't play good defense.

He had multiple opportunities to trade for Jimmy Butler who would have been perfect for our team. Probably one of the guys in the league that cares as much as dame. Holdup still probably would have been CJ like you said though. I'd have to think the year we had three firsts we could have figured out something

So how'd trading for Butler go for the Twolves and 76ers?

Didn't work out there. I know one of the reasons it didn't in Minny is because he felt the other players were soft and didn't care. That problem likely would not have been there with Dame.

It would have been a worthwhile risk especially at his cost around that time. Butler is so much better than any sidekick dame has had since aldridge.

Hindsight tells you those three picks amounted to nothing for us too. If we could have got him for those picks and someone other than cj......

Olshey mad an offer for PG13 that year, but it was a stupid offer

reports (substantial) were that Olshey offered all three 1st round picks plus any combo of Blazers EXCEPT for Dame, Nurkic, and CJ. That was not a serious offer. And if Olshey was unwilling to make CJ 'touchable in the PG13 trade, it's likely he was the same when Butler and Kawhi were available. And maybe Harden as well

    https://www.blazersedge.com/2017/7/...l-george-trail-blazers-offer-2017-draft-picks

and LOL at Quick saying it was a "better offer" than OKC. I'd guess, considering his terrible player evaluations he'd think an offer of Meyers + Harkless + three non-lottery picks in the same draft was a great offer. Dumb

Pritchard wouldn’t have traded PG to Portland even if CJ was included. Pritchslap

LOL...I do not believe that for a second

sounds like something Olshey would say to justify inaction and a weak offer

If so, that is a great Ben Simmons trade.

Portland will be sitting on the sideline yet again.

Yeah right! So you think Pritchard would deal w/Portland at that time? I don't unless Dame was involved. Thats just my opinion.

If it were clearly the best deal on the table? Most definitely.

The issue is determining what the 'best deal' actually is. If the deals are roughly equivalant, Pritchard likely picks the other one for spite.

Agreed. It would have had to of been really lopsided in Indiana's favor. If Pritchard thought he could have stuck it to the Blazers then yes, but help the Blazers in any way.........I don't see it.

There was no way to make trading for Harden work without trading C.J.

This kind of supports that assertion:
“I’m not sure how Olshey is going to get that done,” a former Western Conference executive said. “Everyone in the NBA knows [the Blazers] are up against it. No one is going to help Olshey solve the Lillard crisis.”

“Any team dealing with the Blazers are going to put the screws to them,” the former executive said. “Unless they blow the whole thing up, they’re going to have a hard time.”
