If Neil does nothing Dame will demand a trade between the beginning of the season and the trade deadline. At that point Olshey will be fired and they'll bring in someone else to handle the rebuild and make Dame wait until the off season. Neil's job and reputation are on the line. He has to do something.

That is an accurate statement, and a reasonable position. He hasn't really done anything to give us faith. Why have high expectations when past performance suggests the opposite is more likely? If Neil pulls off some significant trade, I will gladly give him all the credit he deserves. I won't even make any comments about him only acting because Dame boxed him into a corner, or that he was 3 years late making big changes. But I'm absolutely not going to set myself up for disappointment by expecting him to do something that he hasn't done in his entire tenure.

You're probably right because one of the teams interested is the Knicks and they can pretty much spend whatever they want on him under 30M and have another 30M+ for another FA. Just hoping that it's an overpay we don't have to go that far on. If we trade CJ like you have up there, then this becomes a much more attractive place to stay for Norm.
