@Tyrant of Ants your daughter is a very talented artist. No budding about it. I can't believe she can do that at 10 years old amazing. She has a gift. She will be able to do what she wants in art easily. Some of those art restorations that got destroyed would have been safer in her hands.
Tenderfoot. We moved to Portland when I was 11 and my mother showed no further interest in my scouting plus there was no troop in my area.
Thank God in heaven above that you married your wife. However, it must be a challenge for her to keep you on the straight and correct path.
Yet another proof there is a God. My wife also claims I was something of a problem man when she met me, smoked weed, cigars, used foul lanuage, played poker with the boys, drank whiskey, had long hair and a beard, wore hippy clothes, subscribed to a couple porno movies, went to topless bars, watched porno movies with the boys. Anything else? She changed all that and tells me I'm much happier now that I spend all day saying "yes, dear" and that I never listen and generally reminds me that I'm pretty much wrong about everything. I constantly commit the sin of not thinking I'm much happier now but she reminds me that I am happier now. Thank God for her reminders.
start her a website to display her work...give her an online gallery and for her, it'll still be fun and she won't have to do anything but art...online art galleries are awesome!
She wouldn't even have to know about it at her age...just document the work and as she grows, she'll have her own gallery online to reflect on later...my wife had one for many years, we finally took it down but it wasn't expensive or hard to do..a friend set it all up for us
You could probably get a good start on an art collection for the price of homemade cookies with a 9 year old!
Me too. Every time I come back from dialysis I have a mug of hot black tea with clover honey and I feel somewhat renewed. I drink a cup of coffee about once a month.
Guru? Did you just ask yourself if you are a gifted artist??? Lmmffaaoo!! Wow. Words don't say enough. To say she is talented is not giving full credit. Extremely gifted might be a bit more apt description! I have only one complaint. No Dame or clyde or walton or pinwheel art???? this is a knock on your fatherhood, you know this right?
@Tyrant of Ants those pieces are fantastic! I haven’t been in the OT section much the past year or so and just found this thread. Easily the most worthwhile thread in ages! You should be very proud and continue to let her explore, Fuck others who question if you should let a 10 year old use a soldering iron. My nephew (also fantastic with a wood burner) became fascinated with fireworks at around your daughters age. That passion led him down a path, building more and more complicated fireworks. To grasp this topic he took up chemistry and now, at age 17 is more advanced in chemistry than most BS chemistry graduates. He will be heading off to college next year, with a science background which should help him excel in whatever direction he decides. Anyways, let her imagination and skill guild her. You obviously are doing a wonderful job. Keep posting her art, I really appreciate it.
