Unless it's moving CJ, salary matching becomes pretty difficult.

I would be very cool with that. If by the time free agency starts we have Simmons, Siakam or Grant as our second option then I'll be happy. I think Simmons is far far more valuable than the other two but I just think that freak athletes with elite basketball skills and size are a nice thing to have.

He’d be a nice fit, but it would be tough. Detroit seems to be rebuilding so we’d need a third team

Damian has already admitted that he's been perturbed about the reaction towards him by "fans" for the Billups signing. If he leaves, that's a coup you're contributing to. You gave voice to a total non-story and continue to beat a dead horse.

Damian Lillard has already said the stuff coming out is hot garbage. You're literally spreading misinformation. "Journalists" like him have been beating the drum of Damian to a big market for a while now and and you're only contributing to it. When fans say "OMG the Billups fiasco is is so insane and Olshey is an embarrassment" it just makes it so. You're just echoing a hundred people on Twitter. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy of manufactured consent. Damian continues to shoot down this nonsense left and right and you keep spreading it without any named sources.

Don't get upset if and when Damian leaves and then ask the idiotic question, "what made Damian leave" when he already told you it was the fans reacting to the Billups signing. Now you're just doing it again with garbage Twitter accounts that are being exceptionally vague.

Grant or Siakam? Not counting injury history, I like Siakam but what say you?

He was asked about the fans reaction to Chauncey point blank in his recent presser and he said he can handle that and that he knows who the true fans are and that we have the best fans in basketball. He said that the thing that was getting to him (this is last time we heard him speak) was journalists putting words in his mouth. That being said, when someone reports something about this team they're not making it up out of thin air... at least I doubt they are, so with the understanding that it probably only has a little truth in it, it's worth talking about.

Also this idea that fans or media are going to drive Dame away from this team is absolute bullshit, it's naive. Give Dame a little more credit than that. The only reason he is even talking about leaving is because of the treadmill management has put him on. No matter how much better Dame gets and how devoted he is, he isn't seeing that same devotion from management (those are things he relayed using the word urgency). So don't try to put it on fans who comment on false reporting... when the fuck has that ever made a player switch teams? The reason Dame may end up leaving is because he decides that the team is not going to give him a chance to win it all.

For the record, I don't think he's going to leave but I DO think fans are doing the national media's job by echoing shit that is absolutely made up. "Journalists" have literally made up news about big time going to the Lakers or the Knicks for YEARS, and not because it has any legitimacy, but because the big markets click on that trash. Why do you think the media is almost NEVER reporting who the Sacramento Kings want or who the Blazers are targeting? Because nobody gives a shit outside of the city and because it's all made up. I literally attacked ESPN on Facebook for "reporting" the Lakers want Westbrook. Why not report the Wizards wanting Lebron by that standard? You're spreading horseshit and you should know it. If you think a random Twitter account knows what Damian is thinking or saying more than Damian Lillard then I have a bridge I want to sell you.

Damian has had a hard-on for Stotts and CJ for a while so acting like it's ONLY on OLSHEY as to why the team is in the place it is, is disingenuous. Dame can play clean up all he wants, but he let his feelings be known when he was getting backlash about the Chauncey signing. Saying "we have the best fans" is a throwaway line when you're trying to get out of something. Stop propping up nobodies who have "sources" but are willing to state who they are. This is basketball. Not the pentagon.

    Do better. Be less naive.

But if random Twitter accounts say so quoting "sources" then it must be legit. ‍♂️

man you post some good stuff. We need more posters like you and less posters who post 24/7 with drama and negative related posts like they have nothing else to do with their time.

Basically I echo your exact statement but you have a nice way of putting it and getting your point across which I have a hard time doing at times lol.

    Dwight:

But sources around the league say that Damian Lillard’s public proclamation about wanting an improved roster has put the Trail Blazers in a difficult position. The perception is now that Portland is under pressure to make a big move to placate Lillard and thus, the asking price for a player the Blazers may covet has gone much higher. Prospective trade partners are now asking for a mother lode of future draft picks and several players in return for a player who simply isn’t worth that sort of ransom. It may take time before the Trail Blazers can convince trade partners that there is no fire sale going on. Olshey is not the type to make a deal out of panic or desperation.
