If they do, that is awesome and of course what we all want.

But it was Olshey who continued and continued to keep Stotts employed and Stotts for the VAST majority of cases, doesn't play/trust rookies much. So Olshey could Draft all the talent in the world. Outside of Dame, Stotts hasn't given it much run. We wasted Draft picks on trades for a SG when CJ was just sitting on the bench.

I honestly don't get the people defending Neil. He has made some good moves no doubt. But his bad moves and attitude towards the team are borderline unforgiveable. Plus he is a total car salesman douche.

    Plausible? Yes - completely agree.
    Probable? Meh... not likely.

Sometimes it takes a player to be in the right situation & under the right coach to blossom. Nas & Simons now have a new opportunity in front of them. They may be able to develop into serviceable rotation players. Given their anemic careers so far, the likelihood that either would make it to 'all-star' level talent is 0.001%. The likelihood that they can be a Wes Mathews (pre-injury)/Nick Batum level talent is 25%.

Thats the problem with players getting paid more and more money. They overvalue themselves and want these big paydays. It's ruining the league. It's fucking up team salaries.

Good player, but not worth that much. That said, some GM in an Olshey like fashion may pay him close to that.

I’d give Holmes 80 mil before I’d give Evan Turner 80 mil.

    ok...quick and dirty match

in 2016 Crabbe got a 4-year/75M deal and Turner got a 4-year/70M deal. The salary cap then was 94M. Next season, the cap will come in around 112M; an 18M increase. 18/94 = 19% increase

    so then, Crabbe's deal in today's dollars would be 75 X 1.19 = a 4-year/89M deal. And Turner's would be a 4-year/83M deal

which is less than what Holmes wants, and he's actually a better player than either Crabbe or Turner were at the time. Still, it's way too much money for Holmes. Which is just another illustration of how fucking stupid Olshey was in 2016

Hard to believe this is only 3 days away.

Whose doorstep is Neil going to be on at 3pm on Monday?

Powell is the obvious choice, but I think he might already have Norman in the bag.

I am speculating Wiley Cauley-Stein with the TP MLE. Some agency connections here and we might prioritize getting a backup C.

Maybe we ask ourselves why we are hoping our 1st round picks to contribute in year 4 like Simons just before we have to pay them while other teams develop their players faster (if they are worth developing at least and with Ant i have my doubts). Maybe finally at year 11 Anfernee becomes good. That is still a win for Olshey?

It's going to be someone that people go "Whaaaa? Him?????" And then talk themselves into after a few hours. That's how it was with Jones (guilty). WCS for the full TPMLE would definitely fit that bill.

Keldon Johnson, who Dame keeps raving about was drafted 4 picks after Nas. A part of me thinks that if Nas were given the opportunity, he would have flourished as well.

I put this more on Stotts than Olshey.

If Olshey wanted it Stotts would be long gone. He knew he wouldn't play rookies with big holes in their games.

I’m hoping for Theis or Batum with the MLE, but that’s assuming we actually bring back Powell. If Powell leaves I think they have more money to spend.

Weren’t the blazers reportedly interested in McGee at the deadline? He’s an UFA. Could probably get him for the minimum.

Wouldn't mind him either but i think he's going to Denver. I want an athletic rim protector who can play 15-20 mpg consistently.

And a wing defender. Batum is the ideal guy here, but I think he goes back to LA. It's not like Olshey to go after the obvious choice in FA. I think he goes after someone like Stanley Johnson or James Ennis. He also likes going after guys who spurned him earlier (Melo/Hezonja/etc).

Tony Bradley is good enough as a vet min center. Lowe made a good point in that all the centers that were signed to any sort of good money last year were dumped or their teams are trying to dump them. Just not worth putting the money into a center.

Would be interesting if he recreates a Powell-Siakam-Ibaka trio reunion.
