I think Gallo overall is a damn good upgrade looking at the big picture. He, Judge. and Florial will be a damn good otfield. Ditto the additon of Rizzo is an upgrade that permits the departure oof Voit. While I applaude those additions the otjer mebers of the group and they know who they are must get their game out of the crapper. (see yesterdays lineup. If that happens the team will improve but the pitching is still a bit shaky. Pitching is prima but there have been teams with some pretty good staffs that included Scherzer & Verlander who got smoked at post season time.
Yeah, part of our problem all year is that the bottom 3 of our line up have been a black hole on offense with the 7-8-9 spots averaging hitting below .200. Gallo and Rizzo will give us 2 sorely needed LHed bats with above average defense and both are very smart players who don't screw up on the base paths. We upgraded our defense and offense and both came relatively cheap without adding much to the payroll and without giving up our best prospects. Still thinking/hoping there will be other moves by 4:00...there are rumors of Voit going to either Brewers or Mariners.
LHed starting pitcher Andrew Heaney to the Yanx. And no, he's not and ace or even a #2...he's a substitute/safety net for Severino and simply gives the Yanx more depth.
