    Can masturbating REALLY boost your immune system and fight Covid?

    WITH a deadly virus circulating the past year and a half, many people have been wondering how they can boost their immunity.

    Masturbating is sometimes touted as a way to give the immune system a kickstart.


    When Covid first started causing chaos in the Western world in March 2020, Google searches for “can masurbation boost immunity” went wild as people searched for ways to protect themselves.

    Unfortunately, touching oneself will not be the difference between catching Covid and not, as there are many factors that influence a person's risk of getting the disease.

    But Dr Jennifer Landa, a specialist in hormone therapy, suggests that indulging in some self-love might be able to strengthen your body's natural defence forces.

    “Masturbation can produce the right environment for a strengthened immune system,” she said, according to Men’s Health.

    But is there any evidence behind it?

    One small but promising study of 11 men - who were awkwardly told to masturbate while researchers took blood tests - suggests so.

    Published in 2004, it showed masturbation caused a temporary spike in immune cells, including killer cells that fight viruses.

    An example is lymphocytes - white blood cells that fight foreign invaders, including the coronavirus.

    Maybe the article is worded wrong, but to be accurate, its 0.001% of fully Vaccinated Americans who have died from COVID-19.

    The article states:
    Which means 95% of breakthrough cases resulted in a hospitalization. 20% of them died.

    The whole study isn't very accurate either:

    I'm pretty sure those are total US hospitalizations and deaths for the week, not just breakthrough cases.

    Looks like we're down to a couple hundred deaths per day overall. Half of which are in Florida...

    The article states:

    The CDC reported 6,587 Covid-19 breakthrough cases as of July 26, including 6,239 hospitalizations and 1,263 deaths. At that time, more than 163 million people in the United States were fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

    At a minimum, its poorly written since it doesn't indicate total cases then. No point of reference.

    I do too, but mostly for the ones that have to work in the ICU taking care of the dying Covid-19 patients who can only spend their last time with they're loved ones through a plexiglass window. What a lonely hell of a way to die and it breaks my heart.

    Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told supporters at a campaign event Saturday that the “Florida variant” and “freedom variant” of COVID-19 had infected his brain. Speaking in front of what appeared to be a trailer featuring a life-size image of Donald Trump and the words, “Trump won!” Gaetz said, “You’ve had all the experts say look out for the delta variant or the lambda variant, well next it’ll be the Chi Omega variant or the Pi Kappa Psi variant. I got the Florida variant. I got the freedom variant. It affects the brain. It gets you to think for yourself where you don’t just surrender to the truth that they’re trying to create in corrupt big media.” Though ostensibly a joke, the remark comes on the same day that Florida, Gaetz’s home state and the one he represents, broke its record for most coronavirus cases recorded in a single day since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
