Voit brought all of it on himself through "injuries" and lack of production. He has no leverage with the Yanx because he knows any perceived value he has will come via what he does the rest of the season...if he contributes, he may have a job with another team next year.
Glad to see the sweep vs Miami but the Yanx need to start thumping the shit out of some of these lower tier teams instead of making all of them nail biters, And conversely, they need to start actually winning some of the games that they've been losing to our divisional rivals. (Jays, Rays, and Sox) That will be the detrmining factor as to whether we make it to the PS or not.
Rubber arm Gardner should have been sent home! The Yanks are already on the hook for his salary, so send him home. Personally they should have traded him and paid his entire salary, ie give him away for free, with nothing expected in return. This is one reason Yankee rookies have a hard time breaking in. Because they don't get to play with any consistency.... it's up and down back and forth on the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Express... What a way to destroy confidence in young players. They must own stock in that train line.
Gotta believe that the Yanx are still playing Gardener because of some sort of ill-advised and perceived "loyalty".
