If Neil tries to turn the screws too tight, he might tell him to get fucked and sign for one year with someone else.
it doesnt matter someone can offer him max contract and atlanta maybe wont match, although its unlikely hes certainly waiting for someone to offer him max contract
I guess it depends on which narrative you believe, ultimately. The players will 100% talk directly to Dame. So if you're in the camp who believes that he still wants to be here and make winning happen, I don't think it'd be hard at all for other players to pick up on that. If you're in the camp that thinks Dame is 1 1/2 feet out the door, then again, I think players would pick up on that -- in which case you're probably right. Despite all of the slant the media has put on everything, Dame has never come out and said he wanted out. To me, there's nothing wrong with wanting a better team and being outspoken about that, so I tend to think that, if anything, he's probably (hopefully?) leading the charge to bring vets in. If he's not... what are we even doing? We'll see...
im guessing Masai told GTJ to go find a contract to allow him to match it. In this market, think that's better than coming out with a big deal at first to a RFA.
i dont know if anyone has max money available, but even if no-one has it, he can be talking with atlanta, telling them he want max, them telling him they are not willing to give him max etc if someone offered him max contract, hed agreed to a deal by now
