if Zeller signed for 5M, the only arrows is Portland's quiver are vet minimums and trades there sure as hell was not any sense of urgency that Dame wanted to see in the moves made so far
I think the focus for all teams has been FA signings, there hasnt been many trades as yet. I would expect teams to now look to move players more so than up to last night. Expect the unexpected though.
We kind of need a true power forward more than a wing. We need a guy who can rebound and defend the bigger forwards on other team's second units. Don't get me wrong Rudy Gay has the versatility and size to do both but I'd like a guy who is even closer to 6'10". We've got RoCo, DJJ and Nas who are all wings capable of giving big minutes. I don't mean to get technical and I know positionless blah blah blah but this roster needs a power forward... not another wing.
I think it's awfully telling that we don't know how much money we're paying Zeller. It's almost as if somebody doesn't want us to know.
He can be as high as he wants on CJ... if the guy has a fucking brain in his head (which is questionable) he's got to have figured out that CJ and Dame have more value apart than together.
Is Dame and CJ contract handcuffed us on signing players? Sorry don’t know about cap space but how is the Warriors can afford Curry, Thompson and Green? Sounds like we become a poverty team.
I was kinda wondering about that. It’s like we don’t want other teams to know if we are still in the game.
I know "blah blah HARD CAP blah blah" but is the Zach Collins deal finalized, or is there any possibility of sign-and-trading for DeRozan?
Dunno, but it's a low risk high reward deal at the vet min to see if he can get back to what he was prior to the injury. As a good locker room guy and someone without a guaranteed role, and someone who would like to come back, why not? I guess Milwaukee gave him a role though.
it's not unusual. they might have told Zeller he's getting at least the minimum, but if $ from the MLE is not used, he could get it. happened to wes matthews when he signed in Dallas and Cuban gave him more after DeAndre Jordan bailed.
History shows NO prefers the pressure of the trade deadline to make deals. Not holding my breath on a splash this summer.
Man! It takes two to tangle on trades. That was always where the potential biggest move can be done. Just because it hasn't been done to comply with the impatience of some S2 posters, doesn't mean it's not being worked on. So, since some think I'm Neil, calm down, and trust the process. Gee, that sounds like GM talk.
Only a fool would trust Neil blindly. The guy makes a single now and again but certainly has proven to not have the cajones to move us closer to contention. It is pretty evident Dame feels the same way. His comments in the press conference said as much in terms of urgency.
