Only Dame will get Dame traded. So it really depends on if he changes his mind and wants out (because I believe him that he doesn't currently).
Yeah, because Neil probably views them basically as equal players, but Dame's trade value obviously far surpasses CJ's, so Neil will naturally be more inclined to trade the player whose return most closely matches his contribution.
Zero chance=zero chance, so the correct answer is neither is more likely. I've said before that a curse was laid upon the Blazers: we get Dame, but the curse is, that we have Olshey for all the time we have Dame. So Olshey only trades Dame if he wants to leave.
going by Portland's free agent moves so far and the speculation that Olshey still essentially holds CJ untouchable, there are only 2 possibilities I see (assuming no blockbuster trade) 1) Olshey thinks Dame is bluffing 2) Olshey wants to drive Dame out of Portland
We don't know if any of us will be around in two years. Enjoy the present, and quit worrying about what we can't change. I just see this as another pessimistic post. Hey! I will just start an optimistic one.
They day when this organization gets tired of olshey is the day he trade Dame. He will probably go out by screw us one last time.
Right now - zero chance Dame gets traded. Probably a 10 % chance something worthwhile works out for CJ. At the deadline if the season has gone to crap…Dame for the biggest package possible.
Actually Neil's actions will get Dame traded. Because if Neil fucks it up like he most likely will, then Dame leaves. So Neil will get Dame traded. To answer the poll. It better be CJ or Neil fucked up. There's no counter argument to that.
Dame is 10x easier to deal than CJ, who many would argue is overpaid. I think CJ is a 20 mil/year guy. Only NO thinks otherwise.
I don't think it's pessimistic at all. I see the goal of the team as this: to win. To win as many games as possible, ideally winning a championship. I value wins in the immediate term and the long run and everything in between. I don't see the goal as to keep our team intact, or to keep our best players. If the Blazers trade CJ or Dame, I would expect to get a decent (or better) return, which could help us win... and I see that as a good thing. A pessimistic thing? To expect us to bring the same team back next year and expect different results than we had this year. In the face of mediocrity, change is good.
He's gonna trade Dame for 100 picks and CJ will go 30/10/10 next season and will be traded for 100 picks.
