I’m kind of surprised there hasn’t been any news on Ed Davis. Wouldn’t mind him as a 3rd center. No chance that Nurkic and Zeller stay healthy all season.
what I've seen is that only one 'reporter' said it was a minimum, that was Fentress. Hollinger said Zeller was a good get at the minimum, but didn't confirm that was a fact. Could be he was basing it off of the Fentress post but maybe I've missed somebody else confirming the contract
Last year felt like one step forward. This year feels like two steps back. There better be a CJ/DJ trade for Simmons or Siakam goddammit.
There have been no steps back, relax. Y’all are dramatic as hell. It’s been not even 24 hrs into FA. It’s not like we were going to make a big splash here anyways. The guys we’ve gotten for the vet minimum are fine.
Shhh it’s kinda fun watching grown men cry about sports and then have to walk it back “this shows me that dame is be traded” lolllll
We have taken no risks. Just signed a few minimums that were reactionary based on the guys we had last year.
ben mclemore and tony snell are about equivalent to hezonja and tolliver. maybe worse. these dudes are fringe NBA players.
This...we got rid of broken Zach..Melo..Blevins..Hood and Trent Jr and Giles and Kanter We're going into a new chapter with Norm, Zeller, Snell, McLemore, Brown and a couple two way 6'8 wings as well as a Mudiay and Michael Beasley...not sure where folks see such a huge dropoff and we still probably make one more deal before the season
Can we at least insert ourselves into this DeRozan deal and send jones to the Spurs for Thad Young? I mean I can’t imagine the Spurs want young, and Jones saves them some money.
For what it's worth, SpoTrac lists Zeller's contract as a vet's min, $2.39M deal. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/charlotte-hornets/cody-zeller-13317/
Barring a trade for Simmons/Pascal (or similar), the only way this off season is passable is if Little or Simons have an inside bump in production. So in other words, how's the draft next year?
