ok...whatever I'm just saying I don't think signing guys like McLemore and Snell indicate an impending trade any more that signing Stauskas or Heszonja or Tolliver did. It's just Olshey's standard dumpster diving
hahaha this is the worst take I have ever seen on here. Derrick Jones jr is not a point guard or shooting guard. He can’t shoot, he doesn’t have handles or passing ability.
I bet that Dame comes back and if the rumor are true about seeing Giannis win and playing with Bam made him want a super athlete big... Dame says, "You didn't do enough. Do what it takes to get Simmons on our team. I'm sure there are other moves you could do that would keep me but my preference is Simmons. Anyway you do it, you've got to do more and do it urgently." Then Dame as has been reported in rumors gives the team until a reasonable enough amount of time before the trade deadline and demands a trade by the deadline if the improvements haven't been made. I don't think he'll tell Neil he has until the trade deadline but maybe he will lay out the exact timeline. If Neil pushes back too much and says they aren't looking to make any more deals and this is the team they're taking into the regular season... I don't think it will sit well with Dame and he might demand a trade right then or just do it before the trade deadline.
So in the summer of discontent for Dame, our big moves was re-signing Norm and bringing in Cody Zeller?
so far, yeah I'm guessing that Olshey is out there shopping Jones really aggressively...maybe even adding a 1st round pick for leverage. If he finds a taker, that might be what convinces Olshey he's done enough
Shit, I hope he's angling for a CJ+ trade because I don't think anything else will improve the core of this team and that's what Dame said had to improve in his presser before leaving for Japan. That was before he met with Neil and Chauncey so maybe his mind was changed but I doubt that and if it was I bet kicking it with Draymond for a month will change it back. Not that Dray will recruit him to the Warriors. Just that Dray stirs shit up and will be talking Dame's ear off and talking shit about winning titles.
Here's the problem... Out Melo (backup four) Kanter (backup center) Rondae Hollis Jefferson (backup.... three? four?) Harry Giles TJ Leaf Blevins In Zeller McLemore Snell Brown Who is the backup power forward? How are we replacing 24.6 ppg, 14 rebounds, 2.7 assists with those four guys?
Well there is one more roster spot to fill the minimum and maybe that will be a vet min PF. I've been saying the same thing that we need a forward with size for our bench. That being said, Neil is the guy that acquired Powell to play the three and had an open roster spot and instead of picking up a big with it watched as Terry played Melo for long stretches at the 5. So we might just be fucked.
I grok where you're coming from, and it does look like an unfinished roster. But I've seen Olshey trot out benches just as bad and unbalanced before.
No matter what people think of Melo you gotta believe Dame isn't gonna be happy Melo is gone. Especially when he sees who we have brought in so far.
We have lost rotation guys and replaced them with.... very much not rotation guys. Well..... Zeller is rotation, but Snell and McLemore really aren't.
I think Michael Beasley might get a look for a cheap PF...he played really well in China for a stretch...see if he's matured and has grown as a player but he's plays a position we need help in
I disagree...I think he's happy to have Melo get a shot with Lebron..those two have known each other since high school.....Dame want's help and that meant a bench that can either build a lead or keep one....our starters could do that last season but our bench couldn't...addition by subtraction...Dame didn't know Melo much before he came here....CJ was closer to Melo on that level but there's respect.....Melo made his choice...had little to do with Neil...Chauncey criticized Melo's need to score before and they were teammates....Melo might not have wanted to play for Chauncey as much as anything
That is a decent signing, but would Blazer fans be happy giving 180 million to a 35-year old Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson? I find it hard to believe we would.
