Philly would have to include Maxey and Thybulle as well. Those two with Simons and Little is a good young nucleus.

Agreed on your first statement. Dame, IMO, is the best player in Blazers' history. But he's 31 years old and it's looking like building a contender around him is going to take a couple of more years at a minimum. If he demands a trade, the Blazers don't have any obligation to honor that request since he's under contract for the next few years, but we all know that unhappy players generally are successful in forcing a trade. I don't know how serious Dame is in his stated position, but I would think that Olshey is. If he knows he can't make Dame happy, then it's in the team's best interests to find the best deal possible. I'm hoping that Dame has told Olshey that he's willing to give it another couple of years, assuming some progress is made this year. Man, I'm REALLY hoping that's the case. I guess we'll find out pretty soon.

I understand, and share, your pain. I don't want these posts to make it sound like I'm advocating trading Dame. Like everyone else, I want CJ traded for Simmons or Siakam and for the Blazers to contend for a title with Dame at the peak of his game. I can't think of a better story in NBA history than that would make.

Can't they at least add a "to Portland" in that tweet?

Me too. It would be a kick to the balls to see Dame go, especially before CJ.

Phil Beckner taking his talents to Philly is an attention grabber, for sure.

Just for the sake of argument, let's say the CJ for Simmons rumors are onto something but missing the mark... If Simmons is the great pairing alongside Dame that many here think (I'm skeptical), and CJ is what Philly needs alongside Embiid, then a Dame for Embiid trade does the same thing. No way in hell is Olshey trading Dame for Simmons.

Dame instead of Embiid in Philly is more in line with classic Morey ball.

No Embiid in Philly also makes more sense with bringing Drummond in, given their history.

I'd be real nervous about Embiid's durability, being a big man in Portland.

He'd be the next Oden here. His Knees would crumble as soon as he put on a Blazers jersey. No thanks.

want a gauge of what injuries can do to a career?

Victor Oladipo went from 1st team all defense and an all-star game to a minimum contract in just 2 years

Leak #1: Simmons isn’t the player the Blazers want for Dame.
    Leak #2: Blazers want Embiid.
Leak #3: “No way” Sixers trade Embiid for Dame
    Leak #4: Blazers want Embiid + 3 Swaps + 3 Firsts

I mean is he going there to attract Dame, or did Dame want him on the Sixers?

Yeah, this is why if we ever do make a big trade, we can't give away the farm with future draft picks. (Like Morey wants)
A player can go down with an injury and you end up in the lottery with no picks and no way to get better.
It would be a franchise killer.

I think it's more likely it was done to attract Dame to the 76ers.

Pretty sure Nurk can't play with Embid, so we have to trade him and bring strong PF.
Dame and Nurk for Embid and Tolliver.
