Now we know why Nic DIDN'T come back.

I agree. Was just pointing out the way media and a number of people who apparently know are spinning this.
Apologize if that came off as snark.

cuz Simmons is a much better player than CJ? And Dame will figure it out when he has more than 2 weeks to prepare. I still think Dame can play off ball in the NBA where he has more room to attack and he actually plays like he cares. My comment was only about these past two games.

And besides, the objective is to build a better team-- not necessarily just build it to Dame's strengths. He's at his peak right now as a borderline top 5 player and we're still a first round team. Maybe it's OK to try something different?

This is silly: FIBA would almost certainly have preferred Luka in the Gold Medal game - he's the best player in the Olympics by far. But maybe being a poor loser is what drives Doncic.

I appreciate Doncic giving us reasons not to like him.

Doncic does lead the NBA in the 'most punchable face' category. Now, he leads the Olympics as well

Be careful sharing this. You'll have people telling you it isn't fair to compare players that play separate positions. Even though it is a fact Durant is by far the best player on the team.

Durant is certainly the best player on the team, but he’s also clearly at the top of the pecking order. Any shot KD wants to take, KD takes it and nobody says a thing no matter how awkward of a shot it was. Everyone else is deferring to him and that’s been a part of the problem at the starts of games.

I don't disagree with any of that. I still think Durant is the best if not the 2nd best player in the NBA right now. He has been quite good whenever we need something on Team USA. Also seems to be leading well.
