Is there a rebuilding team whose situation, whether in current roster or stockpile of picks, whose situation you think is better than the Blazers? You can choose more than one. (I'm going to omit the Lakers and the Mavs, because (a) I hate those teams, and (b) they had the same record as us.)

On the one hand, I really like the choices the Grizz make in the draft. On the other, they're kind of overstocked with players I think are really high floor guys but not necessarily stars. And Jaren Jackson is starting to look like a disappointment. But Morant, Slo-Mo, Tillman, Bane, Melton, Clarke - I like all of them. And I love Brooks' grit, if not his hair.
Morant is their superstar but they need a consolidating trade. But they're a small market team doing it right.

The Thunder. SGA is a great player and they have a billion picks to try to draft talent with.

Agree 100% about the Grizz. I would consider adding New Orleans to the envy list if it was purely off roster and future, but their ownership and front office seem to be on pace to squander a star draft pick.

I wish I knew Presti's endgame. By the time they're good SGA will be too old for the rest of the roster. And he really likes tall white guys with surprisingly great passing skills.

Hate the Rockets' owner, but they had a GOOD draft (even if I don't buy the Jokic comparisons for Sengun - he's not the passer/shooter Jokic is, and he doesn't have quite Kanter's touch round the basket) and they will bounce back fast.

I don't get the point of this.

If (IF IF IF ) we were to trade Dame, the haul we'd get would be massive in terms of a rebuilding perspective. And not to mention, we would also let CJ bounce and get as many picks/prospects as we can for him. We'd be near the top of this list.

I also really like the Kings' last two picks - Haliburton and Mitchell, but I'm not sold on Fox, and they definitely need to offload the bad memories of Bagley. Once Philly stops being ridiculous, a Fox + Bagley for Simmons trade looks good to me. Fox certainly wouldn't be shy about shooting in the fourth quarter, but in all other respects Simmons is his superior.

Let me let you into a little secret: in the long run, NOTHING has a point. I'm just getting there faster.

Exactly - so now we have a basis for comparison.

It's the Warriors...the kept their allstars and while Klay was healing tanked to add youth plus they are a free agent destination...and I like their coach..somehow they managed a dynasty with a quick turnaround by taking a year off from being contenders and getting healthy..I think they are a smart organization other than their ticket price hikes

...and the fact that they drafted Wiseman.
...and the fact that they traded for Wiggins (don't like Russell, but he's got to be worth more than Wiggins, no matter how they try to polish that turd)

Wolves SHOULD be better, but I remain convinced that KAT is Shareef Abdur-Rahim on steroids.

Not sure this is true with Olshey at the helm anymore.

i think the idea that Olshey loves CJ more than he does Dame is a narrative based entirely on conjecture (and a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts by people who unconditionally hate Neil). I know we're reaching the dog days of the offseason and are grasping for straws, but even that's a reach.

If Klay came back and was the Klay he was before two career altering injuries in a row... then the Warriors would be worth being jealous of. I realize a bunch of these teams have what seem to be bright futures but none of them have the talent that meshes and really makes me jealous. We have Dame, CJ, Norm (on an outstanding contract), RoCo, Nurk, Ant, Nas and DJJ (on an expiring deal close to 10M). So this team is a move away from being way better than all of those teams. We have a good chance of winning a series against all of those teams besides the Warriors with a completely healed up Klay.

I'm fucking jealous of the LA teams, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix and Utah because all of those teams would kick our current team's ass in a series and if we make a good CJ team it just puts us on the level of those teams... it doesn't necessarily put us ahead of them. It might make us better than them but fucking hopefully we'll find out.

Like others have said, we could have a very exciting young team if we blew it up. Much more exciting than the teams that were an option.

Yeah, the only reason why he might like CJ more than Dame right now is because CJ isn't putting the screws to him but he obviously didn't sound like he wanted to build around CJ in the presser right after the Stotts firing.
