HELL YEAH!!!!! Norm played his whole career for one team...now he's got 5 years here....that's the Dame window...now let's get a PF Norm has no player options on his contract....that's trust baby! Loyalty rocks!
if this is real, i think it's a steal: https://www.spotrac.com/nba/portland-trail-blazers/norman-powell-17874/ 15.5 16.8 18 19.2 20.5 That should be easily tradeable.
those are the numbers I've seen and it reflects setting a target at 90M and getting there with max step raises and yes, it should be tradeable 18M = 1.5M/month = 346K/week = 49K/day - $2055/hour = $34.24/minute.....every minute of every hour of every day for 5 years. I could live on that
ok...for Stephen Curry's new 4-year/215M contract 53.75M/year = 4.48M/month = 1.03M/week = 147K/day = $6136/hour = $102/minute in the time it took me to write this post, Curry made a thousand dollars (slightly exaggerated for effect)

Norm sounds happy but he specifically mentioned Neil as being a "numbers guy" and how he kept saying how good the net rating with the starting line-up was. I think we know who has been feeding Quick his information, and why Quick went from "CJ will be definitely by traded" to "Blazers are gonna run it back" so quickly.
Neil sold him on "keeping the core together" and cited that tired old net regular season rating nonsense. For fucks sake.
Good to hear that Dame has been texting Norm asking him where his head was at throughout this whole process. Doesn't sound like someone that wants to demand a trade this off-season. Not good to hear how involved CJ is.
Oh my fucking god. The number of times Norm has mentioned "net-rating" in reference to Neil makes me want to pull my hair out.
Norm is so likable as a person. Shy, humble, hard-working, well spoken. I hope he stays a Blazer for the whole 5 years, although that is probably pretty unlikely.
Honestly, it's kinda cowardly that they didn't do this at an actual press conference and Neil wasn't there.
Yeah, I really do think the articles that have said that Dame is going to give this a shot for the first two months of the regular season and then ask to be traded by the deadline if it's no good or a blockbuster isn't made... sound about right. I doubt those articles are properly sourced like they've claimed but it makes sense to me regardless.
I'm hoping they are waiting for all the signings to be official (including any upcoming ones), before having one with everyone. But really, I don't think the organization is keen on putting Neil in a position to have to answer questions from the media after the whole Chauncey press conference, and the players we signed.
