We'll see. If Neil doesn't hold his annual self congratulatory presser, that would be a big big change and probably a bad sign as far as the direction of the franchise. I really think he is still trying to get something done that he can point at and tell us how great he is. Even if it's DJJ and a pick for a different player that's close to the same level. I don't think he wants people, especially people like Dame or his agent, debating if we actually got worse in the off season. Regardless of if Dame promised Neil and Chauncey that he'd give it a chance, if Dame perceives the team to be worse than the one that lost to the Nuggets, Neil can't feel good about that. I do think there will be a trade made and it will get done before the end of the first month of the season and could happen as soon as tomorrow. I just don't know if it will be the big CJ+ deal many of us are hoping for or a nearly inconsequential Neil Olshey special.
Still no Collins to SA news. This kinda delay in official announcement usually signals a S&T. Let's see if that manifests. Maybe it's contract related where SA included a bunch of incentives yet to be agreed upon. Just checked, Bulls don't have anything official on DeRozan either, and SA has nothing about Aminu/Young. Hmmm
hello what is this jesus, literally 15 mins after i post that derozan to CHI isn't yet official, he posts this:
i think these are the dominoes that needed to fall for Zach to be officially signed in SA. I want to at least get a TPE for him if not someone like Young in a S&T. Blazers are tangentially involved in all of this
DeRozan got 85 million? That is a little bit more than the Mid-level the Lakers thought they could get him for.
Latrell Sprewell feeding his kids and Bonzi turning down the Kings only to get the minimum in Houston come to mind.
Fentress apparently clarified the Siakam-CJ rumor that Jake Fischer ran with that caused the stir last week. Apparently Jake didn't think his report was that serious and told Fentress, "I tried to make it sound like it wasn't much of a thing and it wasn't that serious." Fentress followed up and said his understanding is that Siakam was never on the table for CJ. https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aH...d=0CAUQkfYCahcKEwiondut9KnyAhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCA
If he is so good, why did the Knicks ignore him all season. He didn't look great on the French team either. I'm sorry, he's not Fournier & he's not Batum, PASS!
good interview - Fentress doesn’t think they’ll use the MLE. Deadline to have a 14th guy isn’t until into the season. My opinion? Maybe they’ve saving a spot for Love once he inevitably gets bought out? - They’re big free agent splash happened at the deadline when they got Powell. Got his bird rights which allowed them to sign him. - Zeller a big upgrade over Kanter because of his defense. - Snell could be a Melo replacement: guy that stretches the court and can shoot, but without the ball stopping. - they both think the bench got better.
It probably did get slightly better. With some health luck, a different offensive and defensive scheme with people buying into it…….who knows? We aren’t a true contender, but maybe enough to win a series? I still wish they would have traded Dame this year to start the inevitable rebuild
