Yeah that trade would be historically bad. The Blazers lose 5 games and lose 7 points on offense while only gaining 3 points on defense.
They even add to their cap while getting much worse.
How many close game did Dame win the team last year. I suspect the Blazers would lose more than 5 games in that trade.

Since we frequently rail on Neil for bidding against himself

how lucky did LA get that Schroeder didn’t take that 80mill lol

I would argue that the LA offer was market correct for DS, at most, a little overpay - but nothing like the Crabbe or Turner deals. We have seen that Lonzo Ball got about the same contract, and while Lonzo is a better assist / rebound and defense guy than DS - he is not as good a scorer - so, that offer was reasonable. DS or his agent are just idiots not to take it.

The reason DS has to settle for the $6M is that the money in the market simply dried, it's not because the market does not value his production at around that Lakers offer.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Are they lucky? The Lakers are a weaker team without him and can't just reapportion the money elsewhere. For a team with a limited contention window, I think losing Schroeder hurts them more than saving the cash helps them (though, maybe their owner feels otherwise). I think the Lakers are actually worse this offseason--I don't think the players they picked up are worth losing Caruso, Kuzma, Caldwell-Pope and Schroeder (and Harrell is a useful player but for some reason didn't do anything last season in LA).

Obviously, Westbrook is the big wild card, but I don't think he fits at all with James and Davis and any possessions he's taking is beneficial to the defense because it means James and Davis aren't using them.

Jason Kidd getting scorched on social media right now. This started it, but now a lot of tweets linking it to his domestic abuse.

I not trying to defend Kidd, as I wouldn't want him as coach. But I don't believe he is near the only couch that has done these tactics to players throughout the years.

Yeah, no kidding. Anyone blasting him over that has never coached, or at least never cared about the quality of product resulting from their coaching. Every driven coach can think of at least one time they took it too far, but the players usually learned as much of a lesson as the coach in those instances and the ends partially justified the means.

But hey, social media outrage is the cool thing these days, so carry on.

It’s weird that they put Rodman as 37 years old. The oldest he was on the Bulls was 36. He was 37 when he played for LA.

All I see in this tweet about Kidd is players crying that they had to work.
