It's like clockwork. We haven't had Blazer basketball in a few months, Summer League just whets the appetite of long-suffering Blazer fans that the abuse-ee starts to rationalize in their head "Well, MAYBE Billups is the right choice? Maybe the team WILL discover how to defense!" and "Carmelo and Kanter were the real pieces holding the Blazers back!" and "McLemore and Zeller will make the difference off the bench!".

And every year nothing changes, still a middling-level team whose ceiling is the WCF if everything falls into place.

If I was Lillard, I'd be shipping for homes in New York or Philly.

Well Thank God you're not! I think Dame should be negotiating to become a part of Future Blazer Ownership. "F" New York & Philly.

You forgot "Our young guys are going to make a big jump!".

I told myself on this forum I was going to TRY and not be as in posters face when I read something that really annoys me but I will make ONE exception before I decide to follow my own advice:

@SlyPokerDog -- Your a complete TOOL and why did you not post this in the Dame requesting a trade thread ? this is where it belongs but you wanted to try and get a reaction out of people and not have your post be lost well gratz you got a reaction but i am done cause i could rip you more but dealing with a complete FOOL like you takes more effort then your post is worth.

Go Blazers and Keep Dame in PDX 4 LIFE !!!

1. Yes, I am a tool.
2. It's you're a complete tool, not your a complete tool.
3. You need to stop with the personal insults.

We have no control over what the front office does. We can either go into the season miserable and expecting the worst (as you appear to be), or accept the current status of the team and hope for the best. Does it hurt you in any way for other people to think positively about the team? Why are the kool-aid drinkers a problem for you?

I’ll be honest, after this summer’s draft and summer league and off season acquisitions…… How can you NOT think we are going to make a HUGE jump!?!? I mean, maybe even 45 wins and a first round exit if we’re lucky……wait a sec……. Seems like we’ve been here before.

It hurts me to have a lot on here predict 60 wins and a WCF trip and then BITCH EVERY SINGLE NIGHT about how much we have failed. That’s a problem for me.

Yet you also complain about the people who are in here complaining that replacing Stotts with Chauncey wasn't enough, and that the roster needs upgrades to compete.

Is there anyone who isn't a problem for you?

Stotts coached 170 different players for the Blazers over 9 years...I disagree that every year nothing changes...and I look forward to every season without having ever suffered by doing so....I also don't think Billups maybe the right choice...I think he is the right choice...Melo, Kanter, Blevins and a broken Zach Collins opens up room for a better bench...we'll see if they click or not. If I were Lillard I'd be figuring out how to build a group that could buy the Blazers from Jody and say..fuck NY and Philly

literally no one has done that.

Sounds like a made up problem from you.

I have never complained. I’ve simply stated that I was under the impression from everybody on here that the roster “wasn’t the problem” it was Stotts. I have never “complained” about anything like that.

Oh yeah, my bad…..that NEVER happens around here. Wonder why I thought it would this year. Just wait…..give it a few weeks.

Seems like another made up impression.

I was going to say that made up problems are pretty much thread themes across the board.

I think the roster is broken and has been since they decided to basically play "Dame" and "Dame Light" as their two starting guards. That being said, the Blazers have some above average pieces to the puzzle that if coached right could achieve more than the sum of their parts. But the real fix should have been trading CJ years ago for wings and complimentary pieces to Lillard, and Olshay just has been unwilling to do that.

Less drop scheme = 10 more wins... have you not been paying attention?

These statements aren't anything new. Chauncey will help and anyone who watched the playoffs knows how bad the Melo and Kanter pairing was.

"Every year nothing changes". Except for the fact that we have a new coach for the first time in almost a decade and two of our starters we've added in the past year. But yes, nothing has changed ...

And as far as your last sentence, if you were Dame and would leave for New York or Philly, then I'm curious why you're still here instead of on a Knicks or Sixers forum.

I want to make something clear right now I DID not put in Sly name i was calling out Chris in PDX not sure how this happened even though I have an idea but i will deal with that end off the forum with Sly and this site

Sorry Sly this happened and anyone who reads this wanted to clear the air

I got to have a beer with him at Chez Ray's pub in Eugene about a year before he passed...he and I were the only guys at the bar and he was talking with Chez Ray...I met him a few times in my life at Gary Snyder's cabin

I am close to the family of the other Merry Prankster out in Pleasant Hill.
Met Ken on quite a few occasions over the years. And actually did "sip" some cool-aid with the clan. I have some fond memories for sure (and some nights with no memory at all) 94' Rose Bowl was a blast as were the many Grateful Dead concerts they got me backstage passes to.
