me too. Glad he is back. Kent wasn't bad but just too bland. Glad to see some fire back in the announcers.
Calabro has had some of the greatest moments to call in the history of the team. And I think he hit a bullseye with them. I liked Jordan, and Mike Barrett. But I love the excitement of Calabro's calls.
I can live with him mixing up Dame/CJ as long as he doesn't use "PAINT IT!!!!" as a celebratory call like Kent did. WTF was that hire about, man. Kent seems like a nice dude who served well in a pinch during the bubble, but he seemed quite overmatched in this role fulltime. Amateur hour with him.
Back to listening to the radio and national broadcasts for me. A real shame. Calabro abandoned the team last year and they do what they can to bring him back. Not a fan of him at all. I watched a clip of Joel and Kobe going at it from a decade ago. Barrett was calling the game. It made me get emotional because of how invested I was in that dude. Miss him calling the games.
He'll leave once the Sonics are back if he hasn't retired by then...Thats ok though, he should be free too.
"To the cup!" "In the cup!" "Around the cup!" IT'S NOT AN F'ING CUP! If he would say that once maybe twice a game I could deal with it but holy hell.
Of course I know that Hap. Jordan Kent did a commendable job. Lamar Hurd was there. They threw out Kent like they did Barrett at the thought Calabro could come back. I don't get the rolling out the red carpet for this guy over and over again.
