Where irresponsibility leads.
1. Jackson and Josephine counties have requested field hospitals from the National Guard.

2. A few weeks ago salem hospital had 6 covid patients. They now have over 70. Other hospitals have the same trend.

3. Hospitals are unable to discharge patients because there’s no place to discharge them to. Long term care places all over Oregon can’t take any more patients.

4. Ambulances are treating patients for days outside of hospitals. So we are going to run out of ambulances soon.

5. At least 25 EDs in the state have no way to see ED patients because the beds are all full with boarders.

6. The first wave of the National Guard will include 500 members on August 20th. There’s no word on the second wave which will include 1000 people (who have not been notified). Guard members will be managing supplies, covid testing, etc. the 500 members know who they are.

7. By early September Oregon will be 500 beds short. Hospital collapse will occur at this point and EDs will close their doors. Hospitals will not be able to take patients of any type.

8. The average covid patient now is sicker and younger.

And this new from Dallas, TX. Basically, all pediatric ICUs are full and if you’re child needs an ICU bed you’ll have to wait.

German pharmaceutical giant BioNTech, which jointly with Pfizer developed the first COVID-19 vaccine to be granted emergency use authorization by U.S. regulators, saw its profits surge in the second quarter of 2021.
