    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think Philadelphia would settle for Russell. And Minnesota seems to value Russell more than most teams, especially since he and Towns are BFFs. So I think it depends on how much Minnesota wants Simmons--I think Edwards will be a requirement.

No idea how we're supposed to beat this with CJ.

that is an aggressive offer, especially considering who they could have landed at 9. morey is an idiot.

The problem is that, while those pieces would make Philly a better team in the long run, it does nothing for their short term window. How much longer will Embiid be at this level? Big men don't usually have long primes. Adding a bunch of rookies doesn't get them closer to a championship right now.

Morey wants Dame. He needs someone like Dame to put them over the top. I'm not even sure CJ would really help them that much.

We can't beat this offer either. Did Philly really turn this down??? I would have taken this 10/10 times.

Morey wants Dame. It's unrealistic but that's what he wants.

But if these offers are true, we ain't getting him for CJ.

It was never going to be CJ alone. It was CJ + picks + pickswaps. I still think he's a better singular piece than any others supposedly mentioned (FVV/OG/Haliburton/Barnes/Cam/etc).

Brogdan is the only one who comes close to being the kind of perfect fit CJ would be in Philly.

I agree, but I'm not sure we can match the overall value of some of those offers. Philly needs someone like CJ because they need to win now, but I just don't know...

He gives them EXACTLY what they need. I think they would be right up there with BK and MIL in the ECFs if healthy.

    CJ
    Green
    Thybulle
    Harris
    Embiid

with Curry as the 6th man is a ridiculous mix of skills/shooting/defense. While CJ doesn't have the raw trade value that Ben does, the fit is absolutely more ideal.

I just don't think either team has the win now pieces that CJ would be for the Sixers. So if Neil is willing to part with CJ+ I still see that being the package Morey will want once he finally lets it sink in that Dame isn't available on the timetable the Sixers are being forced into. All of the rumors about these teams and others have those teams needing a third team that has the actual pieces the Sixers want. So we'll see but if we want Simmons, I think he can be had without giving up more starters than CJ.

That FVV/OG package TOR supposedly offered is (IMO) better for Philly than what CJ would be, even in terms of "win-now" value.

Yeah the "Prima donna" that I'd love for you to furnish a quote from that makes him look like one. I mean, you're getting that narrative from a local Bay Area sports talk guy. It wasn't even a report. If you have some other info that supports your contention that Simmons is some kind of diva please let us in on it.

he cut off all talks with his team and crawled in a corner and pouted.
A winner faces the media and tells them he has issues and vows to work on his weaknesses over the summer.
    Lets be real here.
Dude totally curled into a ball over the pressure.

Yeah FVV and OG would be great but I don't know if I believe that's been offered, especially with the fourth pick. That sounds like a rumor Morey's office let out. If that's out there though, I don't see us beating it even though CJ is the best fit of any individual player that seems to be available.

According to the most recent rumor, it was FVV/OG/(prot) 2022 FRP--#4 not involved.

A lineup with Simmons/Trent/Barnes/Siakam/Boucher would be pretty insane.

I agree that would be pretty nice for Toronto and FVV and OG do make the Sixers better. If we went CJ plus every draft asset we can push to Philly I think that would have more value and CJ is enough to make Philly almost as good as FVV and OG do right now because he is the better fit as an individual. I don't know if Neil would do that or if Blazers fans would want to. I put a very high value just on what Simmons has shown and even more value on what he could be, so I'd want to give whatever it took in terms of CJ and what won't contribute to us winning more in the near future.
