Yep I was for sure a fan of the Everly Brothers. I once heard Keith Richard state that Don Everly was the best Acoustic Guitar he (Richard) had ever worked with. They both rolled in on the first tide of 50''s Rock and set some pretty high performance standards. RIP Don you were up there with the very best.
I've been giving this a lot of listening time over the last couple of months. The Everly Brothers 1983 Reunion Tour opening at the Royal Albert Hall, with Albert Lee as bandleader. Very few musicians make it into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as the Country and Western Music HOF.
Felice and Boudelaux Bryant and the Everly Bros., were made for each other. Just a month or two ago I was listening to the interviews on YouTube with the Bryants. They went into detail how they worked together with the brothers. For instance done had the guitar strumming diddy at the beginning, of bye-bye love, which he had been looking for a home for.
Huge influence on me as a kid...great harmonies great acoustic guitars jangling away..my idea of a good time..RIP
