Are you basing that off his block numbers? Because Toronto fans would probably disagree with you on that statement. He's a shot blocker in the same way that Hassan Whiteside or JaVale McGee are.

He moves a lot better than both of those guys and he plays the paint well. He's a legit 3 and D post who also finishes around the hoop. I like his game and have seen him play plenty. He's not lazy and just waiting for blocks either. He's very active, get's out on the perimeter. I can't think of a guy further from the Whitesides and McGees of the game. Terrible comparison.

That makes us better but not in a way that moves the needle. It makes us really deep but I think we lack potency in scoring. I guess if you think that Dame's our first option and the rest of the guys are 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d... that's OK but none of them are really a second option.

I also think our 2024 and 2026 picks are worth more than the Lakers' and Jazz's 2022 picks. So if the Sixers want a deal for CJ and picks then we can do that and acquire a difference maker like Simmons. I honestly think CJ, DJJ and two first rounders get the deal done.

We don’t have the player who will not show up/refuse to play.

Key to making a good deal is being able to walk away.

I think as training camp and/or preseason (or even the season for that matter) the pressure on Morey increases and the “cost” of Simmons will likely come down.

In a perfect world (from a Blazer perspective) an even CJ-for-Ben trade occurs. Not expecting but just hoping it will happen.

Ok so what do the rotations look like now? I don't see why cleveland wants LM either but that's their problem. DJJ is not bad for the bulls, they need defense, and they got another pick. Bulls win the off-season. I think Ball will be transformative for them. He is 24!

@lawai'a mentioned the idea off-handedly about 2 weeks before your post, but yours appears to be the first to really focus on it.

Looking through this, I don't think we're gonna make any moves until the deadline. We don't really have tradeable contracts/picks/future assets to make major upgrades anyway.

After the Nance acquisition, would a CJ for Brooks/Anderson/Rondo not just be the perfect capper?

Does acquiring Nance open up trading RoCo?

    Dame
    Norm
    Nance
    Simmons
    Nurk

Still leaves a bit of a hole at the backup four spot though. Maybe you send out Nurk in a trade that nets some bench help and a stretch five?

I'm finding myself more and more interested in a CJ for Tobias Harris deal, especially if we can get an asset in return. Someone talk me out of it.

Harris makes like 5M more than CJ, which means that deal will cost the Blazers a ton of tax money.

I'm guessing that didn't work. Probably because you're right.

Ya the people complaining about CJ's contract would have a field day with Harris'. But saving Jody money is the least of my concerns.

I just think the roster would be so much more balanced with Harris. I mean, what if they throw in a pick or Maxey along with him?

    Dame/ Maxey
    Powell / Simons
    Harris / Little
    Roco/ Nance
    Nurk/ Zeller

ugh. I hated the idea of Tobias, but it just makes too much sense.

I mean, there's no way they're giving up Maxey for him, IMO. But if they would, then you make that deal 10 times out of 10.
