I was all excited because we got shake shake in Tokyo a few years ago. It was amazing, but we were starving for a burger. Plus the Japanese do food better than most everyone. The Beaverton location was a big let down.
As chains expand, the quality goes way way down, usually. Take the Halal Guys cart, in New York its awesome, the locations out here in LA suck ass. I have several Shake Shacks near me, I don't even bother to go for some reason, even if there's no line. I don't know what it is, doesn't interest me, even though the burger I had there was good.
This thread inspired me to go to Nancy Jo's for lunch as there's one right down the street from my job. Never been, so I'll let you all know how it goes.
My go-to spot here in LA is "Habit Burger". I don't like going to In-n_out because of the long waits, etc. Habit Burger is dope, they have A1 steaksauce as a condiment. one in Seattle. For a sit down chain, I really like Islands. They raised prices signfiicantly though
I miss Burgerville. I travel a lot and Burgerville stands up to anything other regions have to offer as far as burger joints are concerned. A fine establishment. I did stumble across an Artic Circle in Green River, WY a couple months back. I thought they were extinct, It was like seeing a dinosaur. I was in a hurry and couldn’t stop, but I WILL be going back there for a chicken sandwich and a lime ricky sometime.
In and out is only good because they toast thier buns. Any place that toasts their buns gets extra credit on the ranking scale. i need to try shake shack. Heard many good things but havent tried it.
Artic Circle has a location in Newport Or and Burley Id also, not sure where else you might find them. We usually stop when we see one, my wife likes their Grape Rickey's. I If ever in Redmond, Try Jody's, they have great burgers.
I loved me some Arctic Circle. That place has really disappeared, but we do hit up the one in Newport when passing through. The Nancy Jo's in Mac was once an Arctic Circle, then Burgers & More, and now Nancy Jo's. But even when it was B&M, the receipts printed with "Arctic Circle" on them.
