I play some piano. Fairly good at it. Play mostly by ear. Can hold my own for home birthday celebrations, Christmas tunes, and the like. But that's about it. My wife enjoys me playing for her, so that's nice. Never been in a band. I also can play trumpet and baritone (from high school band) but haven't picked that up in a few years. Aaaaanyway.... 1) What instrument(s) do you play? 2) How well? 3) Ever been in a band or play in one currently? 4) Have you ever played for money? I've already seen posts from some of you (Orion, riverman, etc.) regarding playing, but was curious about others, as well.
1) most all of them. easier to list what i cant play. 2) fairly well though i do bring in musicians to help record more difficult parts i write. 3) Been in many bands 4) Almost always paid something. Biggest haul for a single show was $900.00
Okay, Mr. Music, care to show us your chops on the cello horn, stalacpipe organ, or Cross-Grainger Kangaroo-Pouch Tone-Tool? There are others listed here that are likely new to you as well: https://www.classicfm.com/discover-music/latest/weirdest-musical-instruments/sharpsichord/
1. Bass, guitar, ukulele. Can hold down most percussion decently. I’ll pick up anything and find notes. Began messing with a banjo recently. 2. Intermediate. Best at bass and uke, like to write music on guitar or uke then write bass lines after. Can usually jump in on any jam session and not sound like total shit. 3. A couple, not very serious. 4. Played a couple shows, not much pay, free drinks. Sat in a few times when other bands needed a bass player.
1) What instrument(s) do you play? Guitar/bass 2) How well? I was once decent but haven't picked anything up in a while. 3) Ever been in a band or play in one currently? Never an official band, but plenty of jam sessions. We recorded one once, and I think it's on soundcloud somehwere. 4) Have you ever played for money? nope
me too! When did you graduate? Me, 91’. went to the reno jazz festival in 89 and 91. I was also a boner! Madison high. Got a small scholarship to mt hood but pissed it away.
Hopelessly bad at all arts. My parents sent my sister and me to piano and dance as children. She was OK, I was awful. The women in my family are notoriously horrible singers. Angry cats are more musical. Can't draw. Could act just well enough for supporting roles in high school. After realizing I was hopeless my father started taking me to the library every week while my sister took piano and dance. I have read a lot of books.
Ahhh don't discount yourself. Cooking is indeed an art! Especially when its dessert. thats just music to my ears when someone calls out dessert time, or if im asked if Id like a dessert menu!
