Thought I'd start a thread for people who have a particular song stuck in their head or just whatever music you listen to. Please feel free to add whatever songs/videos you like...I'll start things off and my first offering is kinda obvious; ....play it loud. ...and oh, Mark David Chapman....fuck you.
Don Henley said that this song was intended as a sequel to Hotel California...the devil emerges only to find that the earth is so corrupt that there's no more work for him to do...Sheryl Crow on backup vocals. "And the fruit is rotten and the serpent's eyes shine as he wraps around the vine, in the Garden of Allah." And check out who plays the Devil in this video.
....^^^^ We will never see anybody who had, or has, the talent of John Lennon, never again. Every single morning when I wake up, a song is going through my head. Today it was this, which morphed into the 2nd tune...
Thanx Matts... I like this one too because it's live and it has the original members...I especially like the 2:05 mark where the drummer (Nick Mason) rips off his headphones so he can better enjoy David Gilmore's guitar solo,
....^^^^ A touch of Rockabilly. I adore Emmylou's version of Earle's "Goodbye^, on Her "Wrecking Ball" LP.
I could listen to Albert Lee's guitar riff(s) all day long. The audio is not the best and the video should have centered on Albert Lee's flying fingers. A clip from the mid-70s, Emmylou Harris with Albert Lee and Rodney Crowell. I attended 7 ELH Concerts from 1974-1980. She had The Hot Band and the hottest ticket in town. At the 2:10 mark, Lee hijacks the song with his Tele Solo. A couple of years later Lee would your with Clapton.
I took these at a Licorice Pizza record store on Hollywood and Vine in 1977. Emmylou was there to pick the winning raffle ticket to a Luxury Liner cruise for two, to coincide with the release of her LP of the same name. I was so stunned and utterly star struck by her presence, that I couldn't mutter a single word. The Sweetheart of the Rodeo herself.
Pick any Christmas classic and it's burned into my brain cells since birth...those songs are played every year for a century everywhere you go from Thanksgiving to New Year...they get stuck in everybody's head...for me Louie Armstrongs's What a Wonderful World is one that I enjoy that often gets stuck in my head...same as My Favorite Things...the Beach Boys Warmth of the sun is another
Not normally a fan of heavy metal music but this is an exception, not just because it's a cool song but mainly because Jeter picked it as Mariano Rivera's entry song. I had heard it played for Mo while watching games on TV. But on my first visit to NYC and Yankee Stadium, I was blown away by the volume and sound quality when played in the 9th when Mo came in...the crowd went absolutely nuts. That was in 2002, 11 months after the 9/11 attack and they were STILL clearing debris from the WTC site. When I made it to the site, me and about 50 others were peering through a safety fence, and I was in awe of the enormity of the huge holes in the ground where those towers once stood. They were massively bigger in scale than the images that i saw on TV... Gotta admit, I cried, and as I looked around, I realized that I was not the only one.
