SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Barry Bonds hopes to tie and possiblesurpass Hank Aaron's all-time home run mark when the SanFrancisco Giants face the San Diego Padres on Saturday in thesecond of a three-game series.


Bonds, who has been stuck on 754 career homers since July 27,was held hitless in four at-bats - three against Padre starterGreg Maddux - in Friday's 4-3 loss.


The seven-time National League MVP is batting .269 with 20 homeruns and 49 RBI in 95 games this season.


Clay Hensley (1-3, 6.49 ERA) will be the latest starter who willtry to keep the Giants' slugger in the ballpark. Bonds is2-for-11 with no home runs in his career against the27-year-old.


The righthander will be making his first start since May 2 afterworking his way back from a groin injury. Hensley worked threesuccessful appearances out of the bullpen since returning tothe majors from Class AAA Portland at the end of July.

Hensley has made seven career appearances - four starts -against the Giants, going 1-3 with a 3.81 ERA.


He will be opposed by Patrick Misch (0-1, 4.91), who will bemaking his first career start. The 25-year-old lefthander hassurrendered four runs and seven hits with four walks and twostrikeouts over 7 1/3 innings in six appearances this season.
