Norm Macdonald, the deadpan comedian, actor, writer and “Saturday Night Live” star, has died after a battle with cancer, Variety has confirmed. He was 61. Macdonald privately battled the disease for almost a decade. “Norm was an original! My favourite. Thankfully almost everything he did is now on Youtube including his sitcoms. I had the pleasure of seeing Norm perform in person in his hometown of Ottawa about a decade ago and he was extremely funny. I'm happy to see the outpouring of love for him today and I'm sure it will continue as he made so many friends and was idolized by many comics and entertainers, despite his aloofness.
